Today would have been day 40 but due to the recent announcement it must now stay in this thread and this thread only. So I will have to manually count the votes instead. Vote for your favorite as usual under whatever criteria you think is best.
In the event of a tie both will carry on to the next day to meet some other challenger. I will try and vary the sources from various comics and the occasional TV show which has a comic associated with it.
Voting lasts for roughly a day.
I'm also going to add a bit of story to this to make it interesting, it's still a favorite poll but it's going to have continuity, so in theory you could influence where the story goes too.
Important Story Facts
- The Mysterious Legion are planning something big and evil
- The Amulet of Anubis is the Legions next target.
- The robber was the Vanisher
- The Leader of the Legion remains unknown.
I will happily take requests for future opponents. So where were we?

*Last time Iceman was sent back to training after nearly getting the X-men base demolished in his fight with Giganta. Cyclops ignores Bobbys objections.*
Iceman: But ... but ... awww
Cyclops; Ok team I'm taking the Blackbird and Gambit, if we need any extra help I'll call through the official channel.
*We watch as the Blackbird flies out and races to Doctor Fates Home. it lands nearby and Cyclops along with Gambit exit. They are confronted by some grunts who they dispatch easily enough. As they enter the building they come across a man with a sword in hand.*
Man: Ah the X-Men, I'm afraid your too late.
*The man brandishes his sword and some gems twirl above his other hand. One of them fires out a beam disintegrating Gambits metal pole.*
Gambit: Dat was a Big Mistake
Man: No, but I assume you will think this was another mistake.
*Another beam flies from the gems and flings Gambit out the doors which slam shut behind him. Cyclops returns fire with an optic blast which the Man dodges.*
Cyclops: Enough of this, tell me where Doctor Fate is ... Now!
Man: I Baron Zemo, do not and will not give out such information to the likes of you, Mutant.
*Can Cyclops get past Baron Zemo?*
Cyclops
Cyclops (Scott Summers) is a mutant and the field leader of the X-Men in the Marvel Comics Universe. As a mutant, Cyclops produces powerful "optic blasts" from his eyes, forcing him to wear specialized glasses at all times and a specialized visor in combat. His powers may have led to his inhibited, meticulous character. These same qualities, however, have made him an ideal leader for the X-Men. He is the son of Corsair, the brother of Havok and Vulcan; the father of Cable; and the widower of Madelyne Pryor and Jean Grey. In alternate realities, he has also been the father of Marvel Girl and Ruby Summers, and the biological parent to X-Man and Cable's clone Stryfe. The first X-Man recruited by Charles Xavier and one of the original five X-Men, Cyclops has had a large presence in X-Men-related comics since their inception. He has also been featured in almost every adaptation of the team in other media. In practically every incarnation of the character, he has almost always been shown to be not only Charles Xavier's most loyal student, but also the one who most believes in his dream of mutant and human equality. His loyalty to Xavier has cost him dearly from time to time, yet the character remained by Xavier's side until recently. In turn, Xavier is known to view Scott as one of his most (if not the most) prized pupils, and looks upon Scott not as a mentor to mentee, but rather as a father to a son. Although being typecast as the sensible, stiff loner, Cyclops has had several serious relationships. Unfortunately, most if not all of them have ended poorly. One striking feature is the fact that he seems attracted to women with telepathic abilities. Cyclops has the power to emit beams of energy from his eyes. Although the beams have the appearance of red light, they do not heat objects but instead deliver tremendous concussive force. These beams or 'optic blasts' are tremendously powerful, able to rupture steel plates and pulverize rock. Depending on the amount of energy channeled, the beams can be released in various widths, appearing in enormous bursts on rare occasions. They have been observed to level a skyscraper, or can be focused tight enough to punch a pin hole in a dime. Cyclops' beams have also been demonstrated to reflect off certain shiny surfaces; in concert with Cyclops' intuitive sense of spatial geometry, this reflective quality of his beams allows him to bounce the beams off many different surfaces in rapid succession so as to strike a desired target from an unexpected angle. Summers is immune to the harmful effects of his own powers — the natural psionic field which surrounds his body safely absorbs the energy of his beams if they should come into contact with his body. Cyclops has spent most of his superhero career as the leader of either the X-Men or X-Factor and has developed exceptional leadership skills. It is notable that regardless of their general attitude towards him, all of the X-Men tend to obey his orders in battle - because they know that he's usually right. According to Nick Fury's files, Scott's abilities are at their best in tense situations. Fury notes that the less time Cyclops has to think about a decision, the better that decision is.

Baron Zemo
Helmut J. Zemo, 13th Baron Zemo who was born in Leipzig, Germany and is the son of the original Baron Zemo. Helmut was originally an engineer until he became enraged when reading a report about the return of Captain America. Helmut would ultimately follow in his father's footsteps as a supervillain using his family's money and his own scientific know-how to recreate his father's work. He first surfaced under the codename of "The Phoenix" (not to be confused with any other characters who have used this codename, such as Jean Grey and Rachel Summers), and captured Captain America to get revenge upon him for the death of his father. He was presumed deceased when he fell into a vat of boiling, specially-treated Adhesive X. However he resurfaced and continued his supervillain ways and even refromed the Masters of Evil. One of these Masters of Evil group took false identities and called themselves the Thunderbolts. Leading them under the alias Citizen V (a twist of irony, as Heinrich Zemo had killed the original Citizen V during World War II) Zemo planned to have the Thunderbolts gain the world's trust in order to conquer it. The public took a liking to the team much more quickly than Zemo or any of the other Thunderbolts, expected and soon most of the team came to like being heroes. When the missing heroes returned, Zemo had the Thunderbolts' true identities leaked, forcing them to flee with him into deep space to assist his plan to conquer the world through mind control. However, most of the Thunderbolts rebelled and foiled Zemo's plan. Today Zemo seems to be motivated by a twisted altruism rather than his original selfish desires; he feels he has grown beyond his father in that regard. Zemo, always told as a child that he was superior, now believes his father's Nazi ideals to be untrue, and that the only way to become superior is through righteousness. After helping Captain America, he remarked to his father's portrait that the man would be displeased with today's good deeds. Zemo has a gifted intellect, with certain scientific expertise, excellent marksmanship, and extensive training in hand-to-hand combat. He is also a highly accomplished tactician and leader. Helmut has circuitry in his headband designed to disrupt psionic manipulation. He carried various rifles, and sometimes carries a hand-held spray-gun for Adhesive X, the most powerful bonding agent ever invented. The Moonstones grant Helmut Zemo a massive array of superhuman powers such as energy/gravity/light manipulation, molecular phasing, strength/durability augmentation, the ability to create spatial warps, flight and more.
