Yeah, I know this movie got a lot of hate before it even came out, but...well, I don't really give a damn. It's one of my favorite movie franchises, is it Oscar worthy material? No. But it's entertaining, and that's all I care about. I...enjoyed it quite a bit. The opening sequence made me ridiculously nervous, so they achieved what they set out to do, the story was actually...pretty good, compared to the others, and the action sequences were amazing. The cars were classy, quite an emphasis on American Muscle this go-around, and everything in that movie was tastefully done, they weren't neon covered weighted down flashy cars, they were legit race tuned vehicles. If you like cars, you won't be disappointed. I don't really get the hate the critics gave it, it was great for what it was, a Spring popcorn flick. But it was admittedly quite "for fans", for those of us who wanted to know whatever really happened to Brian, what did Dom do when he split for Mexico, whatever happened to Letty and Mia, and fans of the third film should be happy to see a cameo by Han. In all, if you want a pretentious film you can talk about at Starbucks right after...don't see this, but if you want a good "guy" film with lots of action, a coherent plot, and good looking women and cars, yeah, this is probably for you. Much like the first and the third, it's a great "turn your brain off and enjoy" flick. That's my two cents. If you wanna come in and irrationally hate, save the effort and click the back button. Go browse WWE Current or something.

So, does Michelle Rodriguez actually break out of her "GRRRRR! MICHELLE SMASH!" persona in this film? Or does she spend the whole thing as a poster child for RIOT GRRRRRLS? Walker/Diesel I can handle in these films; in fact, their absence is what's kept me away from this franchise for the last couple of installments. It's Rodriguez that drives me up the wall. She's like the Angry Alba. She never has any other emotions in her films except anger, or so it would seem.

See, no spoilers. ***END*** She can act as bad as she wants to act, so long as she keeps looking like that ...PS she was only in the first one, other than this one.

I may go and check this out. I am not a hater of Paul Walker or Vin Diesel. They have their place, and it is films like these, and for Diesel, the PITCH BLACK series.

You know, Diesel isn't a bad actor at ALL. Knock Around Guys, Find me Guilty BOTH good movies the latter is a GREAT movie in my opinion.

Does Paul Walker repeatedly call people Bra?
At least this film didn't have a marketing campaign that makes it seem like girls are great, but its the cars men really want to have sex with?

Paul Walker seemed to have...reasonably okay dialogue this time around. Thank god. I don't want to see another John Singleton F&F movie, Justin Lin has the formula right.

Okay, let me see if I understand the continuity of the FAST & FURIOUS movies.
THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: Walker undercover cop tries to take down Vin Diesel. 2FAST2FURIOUS: Walker is in Florida to take down someone else that does illeagal street racing TF&TF:TOKYO DRIFT: Vin Diesel appears at the end to make it part of the franchise
do I have it?

Kind of. First one is correct. The second one is him being captured by the police after being wanted for letting Toretto get away, they have him take down Carter Verone, a drug trafficker who uses skilled drivers to smuggle and deliver his product. In the current continuity, this movie seems to have never happened. Third is correct, Han in this film was one of Dom's associates in Mexico. In F&F he cuts Han loose and Han goes to Tokyo. So, that's how that all ties together.

Just got back a little bit ago from seeing it and I loved it. Since most of the characters in this one were already introduced in the first movie, they spent less time on character development and more on the story, which made it more engaging in my eyes.
The driving and action sequences are your standard F&F fare (not a bad thing at all). If I had to rank this movie, I'd put it on equal footing with the 1st movie, followed by Tokyo Drift, then 2 Fast 2 Furious (which I didn't like very much).
