I've been having a problem with people borrowing and returning dvds and they come back in horrible condition. Almost to the point where they are unwatchable/unplayable. I have tried telling them to be more careful with them and they play the old it was like that when I got it. So can anyone suggest a program where I can back up my dvds so I can give them the copy to borrow and keep my original in good condition.

If you on a Mac, I highly suggest RipIt, its excellent. For a PC, try HandBrake.

I suggest not letting someone who destroys your stuff keep borrowing it.

If it's porn and it comes back sticky, tell your friends to keep it.

123CopyDVD 09 is a nice program for letting you back up any DVD. The responsibility for not breaking copyright laws lies with you though, because, with a patch, this will let you back up any disc. I would suggest only loaning out the original and keeping the copy for yourself just as a back up in order to keep yourself free and clear of any legal issues.
