Hello 'Crappers.
I'm hoping one of you great IE minds to help me out with an issue I'm having since I upgraded to IE8 this morning at work. My job function is to oversee several different areas across the country and our technicians daily work load/progress. I generally run six IE windows at a time, each for a different area my company services. Since updating IE this morning, no matter what changes I make, all the windows enevitably wind up with the same information on them after an auto-refresh. I can't turn off the auto-refresh because I need to see new information in a timely manner and our intranet portal only seems to work with IE, so Firefox or Chrome are out of the question.
Is there anything under Internet Options I can change or adjust to fix this issue? Or would I be best served downgrading back to IE7? Any help/advice is appreciated!

Try using the Tabs instead of opening new windows.

Same issue. It's almost like IE sees the same web address and switches them all over to the same thing.

Oh damn. I was simply going to tell you the only good way to use IE is to not use it at all. That SUCKS that you don't even have a choice.

There's a firefox extension that makes pages think you are using internet explorer (or something like that), it might help.

I've been using IE8 for about a week now and haven't encountered anything like this before so I have no idea how to help you out there. I'm also having a hard time understanding what's going on. Are you saying that you have 6 windows open to different pages but they are all refreshing to the same page?

What I have are six open windows that all share the same web address but should have different information displayed on each. For example, I've got a window open for Minnesota, a window open for Nebraska, a window open for Illinois, etc. Say I need to refresh the Minnesota page to see if anything new has come in, the other 5 windows all wind up refreshing (each page is set to refresh in five minute intervals) and display the Minnesota page.
I hope that makes sense. Any idea why it would do that lildude?

Prior to upgrading to IE8, I was able to have the windows open and each displayed a different area and refreshed with no issue. Like I stated above, I think IE8 is reading the windows and seeing the same web address and acting screwy. I don't know how to fix it though.

Hmm, I just opened a brand new window and it went to this page. Perhaps if you try opening a new session instead of a new window for your other pages it might work? I think it might have to do with the new tab features. Try that and see if it works. Sorry that it took me so long to get back to you, I got busy with stuff.

Wow, is IE8 out of beta? I downgraded because of the stupid broken .html I got for like half the websites I tried to visit.

Do you know what you and Val Kilmer have in common? You're both Real Geniuses. Opening up the windows in a new session is what I needed to do. Everything's gravy, baby. Thanks lildude!
