this happens every once in a blue moon. I go about my normal thwaky life and then all of a sudden I hear about people playing FFXI still, then I get intrigued and read about FFXI, then I almost contemplate buying it for my xbox 360 untill I realize I have no one to play it with and then back out at the last minute.
except what's different this time is that I'm contemplating starting out as a red mage, then soloing for cthulu knows how long, then unlocking some classes so I could start all over again.
However I also realize that I have very little time for this game... but damnit a bluemage would be awesome to play as in a MMORPG!
oh dear cthulu wrestlecrap! please help me... I'm so tempted to play a 7 year old MMORPG.

DAMNIT! gamestop is selling the game for 15 bucks (including all the expansion packs)!
that finally sent me over the edge into a horrible grindtastic journy that is final fantasy XI...
so any of you crappers want to help me? *puppy dog eyes*

I'm so tempted to play a 7 year old MMORPG. I chuckled reading your post because I hear or read some piece of news about City of Heroes or WoW and I jump back into the pool. I recently got back into WoW after a several months absence to play WotLK. Still being a FF XI veteran (before even the first expansion came out) I wish you luck in game. Lord knows you got to team grind to get anywhere there. |

ok I finally got the game....
and it's taking three hours JUST TO GET TO THE ACTUAL GAME.
I had to create a playonline account, which I'm fine with except I had to input everything with an onscreen keyboard (I'm playing the xbox 360 version). Then after that hell hole, I finally get around to installing the game.... which takes 70 minutes.
then after all of that, I finally get to log in to play online, then I get to access final fantasy XI from the play online menu, then I try to start the game up to where it tells me I need to obtain a content id. after futzing around for 2 minutes looking for how I could get a content ID (it's at the bottom of the FFXI play online menu) I finally obtained one, then tried to play the game.
and guess what, IT'S UPDATING!!! and that takes another 30 minutes. I hope to cthulu that I get an achievement point for just creating one character for the game because this is completely ridiculous.
