Okay, so I don't buy these things anymore. Haven't in years. Partly because they were just getting too big, with all the oversized McFarlane-style stuff that was coming out. Had to run to a Target earlier today and while killing time there, I checked out the figure aisle for a few minutes. Now, again, last time I actually bought these things was years ago, so I was floored as I walked down the aisle and saw not only hundreds of Star Wars figures, but re-tooled GI Joes in faux "original" packaging. Between the two, almost felt like I was 10 again. Adding to that were all the new lines of DC and Marvel figures - not the ones I was most familiar with when I quit, where they were all seemed to get larger with each wave - but neat little 3 3/4" (approx) ones.
I just thought it was kind of neat how they've started going back to this size of figure after so many years.

Maybe i'm just too old school with my figures but I like my figures to be solid with maybe 5 or 6 points of articulation theres no need for 20 points.

I also checked out the figure aisle for a few minutes when I went to Target this week and I also noticed the 25th anniversary Joes. There werent exactly tons of them there nor were there tons of Star Wars either. I guess its just not enough space in the store. The Transformers section seemed to have shrunk so rapidly, I mean they barely had any. So yeah I check out the figures section every once in a while when I go there but I dont buy any for various reasons.

I still buy action figures. Both to have and amuse myself with when I'm bored. I'm a big kid.

Yeah, the new 3 3/4" Marvel Universe figures are pretty cool, and I'm kinda excited to see which characters get released in the line, as so far they're going with a good mix of classic main characters (Iron Man, Spiderman, etc) and somewhat minor but still cool characters (Moon Knight). The Transformers section was probably bleak because they're getting ready for the new ROTF toyline, and because the current lines are going on hiatus until next year.

I'm loving the Transformers Animated line at the moment, just got Shockwave the other day, he's amazing.
I definately have some interest in other figures (ie Star Wars, WWE), I just don't really want to own them.

I own a few newer WWE figures. Most of the WWE toys I have are those Bone Cruncher ones from the late 90s.

The one thing that scares me is that when I start to have kids how expensive they will be. A freaking WWE figure costs 13 bucks.

When my wife and I go to the store, we always look just to see what they have. I haven't bought anything in probably 17-18 years, but I'll be damned if I can't wait till my unborn children are old enough to play with them. Is it wrong to buy GI Joe's for a toddler? (yeah, yeah, they'll choke. SHUT UP).

Are Star Wars figures smaller nowadays? They seem smaller than my Darth Vader and Boba Fett figures from the 90's.

I wonder if ROH will ever make action figures?
"Bryan Danielson, with cattle mutilating action."
and it will come with a little cow for him to mutilate.

It's like with the Mattel JLU action figures that suck, because they have three points of articulation, but then again, when am I going to get a Huntress/Question/Superman Cadmus three pack again? I mean, Superhero figures should, at the very least, look like they could have a fake fight. Not just move arm up.

Any time I go to a toy store, I always go down the figure aisle. And honestly, the new wave of GI Joe figures look like crap!!
It's a shame...the ones I had as a kid were so much better. Kids are still missing out!

I'm loving the new DC: Infinite Heroes and Marvel Universe figure lines. Something I always wanted as a kid was for all my figures to be size-compatible. I'm nearly 25 now and don't play with them anymore, but it's still nice to have the smaller ones go nicely together on all my shelves.
