People have been getting pretty excited about a HBK/Undertaker Wrestlemania match-up, but does anyone really think HBK is going to be the one to end The Streak? Or is the WWE going to let Taker walk off into the sunset this year (of if he comes back for next year) having never been beaten at a Wrestlemania?
Is it wise for Michaels to be the one to end the streak? Does he really need it at this point? If not, then does it make the match less exciting since it's a given who'll win? Or at this point, does it not matter as long as it's a good match?

HBK probably has the best chance since Orton.
He could do it. He beat Flair last year, and he could make it two years in a row where he steals Mania.

I dont want HBK to do it. He beat Flair last year. Ending the streak would be like retiring the Taker... or at least something very cool. Taker has never beat HBK and it would be the perfect place. HBK doesnt always have to win at Mania. He just has to have a great match. And he can with Taker and still lose.

Taker needs a win over Michaels. No. Taker doesn't NEED anything at this point in his career. Yeah, he's never beat Michaels, but it's not like he's gonna get a boost or anything if he does. Not that I think Michaels is gonna get any great boost if he ends the streak. But both guys have solidified their place in wrestling history already, so I really don't think it matters who wins, as long as the match is good.

If Shawn ends Taker's streak AND Ric Flair's career, whoever beats Shawn at Mania the following year will get a f***ing HUGE rub.

My favorite part of this whole angle is that JBL and HBK automatically threw their hats into the mix. Doesn't the Undertaker get a say in who he wants to wrestle at Mania, lol.

unless this is some kind of retirement match -whats the point? even if taker wants to retire i think he has earned the respect to retire with his streak intact

No Taker will win. He's never beat Shawn. I'm hoping Shawn heels it up a lil and uses this against Taker in a promo.

Zero. Undertaker will finally beat Shawn. Taker's Streak has to remain intact. Shawn being in a classic match with Taker at Mania is enough to add to Shawn's legacy, so he doesn't need the win as much as Taker who has to keep the streak and finally beat Shawn.

Taker's gonna win, because the win or loss in this match is completely irrelevant, so there's no point in ending the streak over it. Wait and give that to a guy who needs it. The point of this match isn't the ending, but the quality of the two guys and the kind of matches they can put on together.
That being said, the fact that it IS Shawn, who he's never beaten, will give the match that much more tension, because people won't necessarily be sure how it'll go. Which is awesome, too.

While I would like to see `Taker ride off into the sunset streak intact I really think if anybody has to end it it should be Shawn Michaels. He's the only one I really see having enough credibility to beat `Taker

If I would believe anyone could end it, it would be Shawn and honestly, Shawn won't end it so the best we can get is an excellent match that both are capable of.

He has beaten Michaels...the ppv before their HITC match he won against HBK. HBK does have a real chance. A week ago would any of us be saying Edge had a chance to face Cena? No...the E is all about suprises and from a historical perspective, there is no one better then HBK to end the streak

Honestly, I'd say Shawn's chances are slim, but if anyone on the current roster has a snowball's chance in hell at ending the streak, it's HBK.
