True story.. Me at a KFC almost two years ago.. ME: Yeah can I get a Three peice and a Mashed w/ gravy Idiot: We're all out of chicken. ME: wha..huh? Idiot: We should have chicken strips in 10 minutes. ME: But, no actual regular chicken? Idiot: Not until tomorrow The fact it ran out of a product thats included in their name was baffling and ive had no desire to return Happens at a lot of crappy restaurants. Don't expect much at fast food

I tried it. Assuming that fast food is the only option (ok, jerky and trail mix with bottled water from a gas station is another), the grilled chicken at KFC with corn and green beans is about as healthy as you can get and not be eating a dressing-free salad (I can't eat bread, so no Subway sandwiches or what have you). And peeling skin off of the thigh and drum removes most of the caloric difference between white and dark. The sodium is really the only worrisome thing, but that can be balanced out. So thumbs up to the Colonel and his minions.

It gets a big meh from me, taste wise. The health difference isn't enough for me to swap it in instead of extra crispy at least once a year though.

I don't go to KFC too much, but when I do, I'll likely being going for grilled; the only times I eat fried chicken these days is the occasional order of restaurant buffalo wings (when I make them at home I prefer them baked).
That said, ugh to the sodium content. Maybe that has a lot to do with the spices they use, so peeling the skin could make a big difference.
