I don't know about you, but for some reason it irks me whenever fans start chanting "one!!! two!!! three!!" when Shawn Michaels prepares to deliver the superkick.
I understand this is traditional with the corner turnbuckle punches, but it just doesn't feel right in HBK's case.
What do you think? Am I crazy?

The only thing that bugs me about it is the fact that the guy he's facing STILL TURNS THE f*** AROUND!!! REALLY NOW? You hear them counting and you STILL TURN AROUND? GAHHHH!!!!

I've always thought it was dumb. What are they counting for anyway, right? But I guess it's just a way for fans to cheer in anticipation of the Sweet Chin Music. It wasn't always like that when he tuned up the band. I remember a time when fans wouldn't count when he'd be stomping his foot in the corner, but that seems like ages ago.

Fans counting HBK's stomps before Sweet Chin Music seriously annoys the hell out of me.
It's pointless.

It'a also weird when someone's doing the corner punches and the crowd keeps counting after they stop. Not just the next number either, but the next two or three numbers. Every time. It's like they're all two years old again and counting is still fun...

Anyway, having been there, I looked around in confusion about why people would count off the SCM. I had never heard it counted off until Raw. I remember it always used to be that fans would make a "HOOO" type sound, but never counted it. I guess the new unwritten rule is "Fans should only count to three at live events."

At the very least, the higher the number, the more damage it should do. I dunno why... but, if HBK only gets to two, a guy like Undertaker should be able to no-sell it..... but if he gets to four or five, he can knock out Godzilla.

I remember when his foot pounds would start out VERY slowly, and then the pacing would quicken as the guy was standing up... talk about a suspenseful moment.
I don't like the counting, but whatever gets the fans into a match, good enough for me.

I really don't mind it at all. It's just a means for the fans to get hyped up about it, it shows that they're clearly interested and excited for what comes next. I think it's endearing and honestly, I'm not immune to getting sucked into it when I'm at a live event.

You know what I love, though? When someone does a pin, and there's no ref, and the crowd counts to 70 bajillion.

just so you know whenever Jericho faced him last year he was "keen" to this and would wobble up to his feet and act like he was turning around, hear the count and scramble back down onto his knees and to the opposite corner as the fans go "aaaaawwwwwwww..."
