I just started last night and it is pretty easy. I work in an eleven story office building and the only real hard part about it is knowing how to get around it.

And I'm officially a rent-a-merc. We may have to clash in the near future.

I just started last night and it is pretty easy. I work in an eleven story office building and the only real hard part about it is knowing how to get around it. Dude, I'm stationed at a hospital at night with about 5 people working there, I sit in a waiting room for 12 hours, its the equivalent of getting paid to watch tv.

Man, I remember those days of being a Rent-a-cop. Nothing like patrolling an empty mall at night & reckless driving in the parking lot...plus, the picture for my Christmas cards came from them days:

How big is your flashlight? I don't even get a flashlight. Is your badge sewn on or plastic? It isn't sewn on but I don't think it is quite plastic. It feels like a mix between plastic and metal because it is light but not light like a plastic name tag. My uniforms are actually really nice because the company i work for is an international company. have you grown a mustache yet? No. I've decided not to go with every cliche of being a rent a cop. Did you used to be a marine? No but I did use to work at a movie theater which is almost just as dangerous. Yeah it isn't quite that easy. It is an eleven story coporate office building for like five different companies including a huge law firm so they won't let me bring in anything like books or cd players. I don't mind much though because I only plan on staying at this post for about a year and then I'll try to get my armed class a security license and try to get a job in a grocery store or something like that. Man, I remember those days of being a Rent-a-cop. Nothing like patrolling an empty mall at night & reckless driving in the parking lot...plus, the picture for my Christmas cards came from them days: You mean you got to be a Mall Cop and you quit? Ahhhh you totally disappoint me Toomiguci. I would kill to do security in a mall. Overall the job isn't that hard but I don't get any weapon of any kind. The state of Missouri is really strict when it comes to security. If someone breaks in I can't do anything except run away and call the cops. Working in a big office building though does give me the chance of maybe some day actually living out my dream of being the good guy in a big office building taken over by Russian terrorists like the plot in the first Die Hard movie.

Oh BTW I almost forgot. Where can I go to get a good pair of aviator sunglasses? I want to at least go full circle with the part.

It is pretty boring with nothing real exciting happening except for the peeps sitting outside of the restraunt across the street getting drunker than Barney from The Simpsons.

I too was a Rent-a-cop.
You need books, a personal gaming system, and people whom you can chat on the phone with. I also like to draw so I would take a pad of paper and a pencil with me, but that was a personal preference. Whatever you do, do not fall asleep.
Now go forth! Enjoy getting payed to kill time.
