either in ring, or what they can really do personality wise.
Cena - heard he was good as the prototype, and could cut a vicious heel promo (his non rapping ones). I think he doesn't wrestle as much since it would be weird for guy in a hip hop gimmick, wrestling in sneakers and jean shorts to try to bust some technical maneuvers like he did as wacky roll up, neon tights guy.
Hogan? - I heard he actually did know some moves in japan, and actually toned it down since the Hulkster didn't need to do any of that to get over since the kids were happy punch, kick, back scrape (even as a kid I thought that was lame). Sure he got over huge, but I think he wouldn't have so many people who rag on him if he would bust out an actual wrestling move more often.
Eugene (Nick) Dinsmore - He was Mr. Wrestling (American Benoit some hailed). Sure he showed some stuff as an idiot savant, but being retarded and all, he had tone it down quite severly or else fans would get suspicious.
Austin - Plenty of people have compained about Stone cold, saying he's a bad wrestler and only a brawler. Anyone who's seen Stunning steve, or his fued with Bret, and occasional matches with Benoit or Angle can tell you different.
Matt Morgan - Heard he's an awesome promo guy. Can truly deliver, somewhat Arn Anderson like. And he has a gimmick where he can barely form cohesive sentences.
Any others?

You really can't mention The Hurricane gimmick, since it's the merch sales he gets solely because of that gimmick that keep Shane Helms employed.

I remember that match, it really wasn't any different the rest of his Stone Cold matches, except he threw chops instead of punches
Bautista. he doesn't really have a specific gimmick, he just seems like a bigger, slower version of the Rock (without the outragous promos) I thought he Leviathan gimmick was waaay cool
Scotty Too Hotty could probably do something else
many others, can't think right now

the cool thing about Batista, was that even though he wasn't the leviathon, his music would almost always strike images of a monster rising out of the water to me.

Perry Saturn was always saddled with some stupid gimmick or other in the bigs....it seems like he was never allowed to just be himself....
Of course I could be missing something here....

It's just I've noticed quite a few posts asking Hurri to drop the gimmick Then you get a guy who looks like that rat guy from Captain Planet...not the rat guy, but the rat looking guy who hung with Hoggish Greedly... Who dances.. Atleast now he's about Young HBK sized, and is lacking those chicken legs... The mask, tights, and gimmick keep him over with the kids, whether he turns good or bad doesn't matter as his plushies, toys, and towels and bobble heads outsell Triple H.. This is the goodness of having a masked wrestler like Hurricane and Rey Mysterio.. Hey we know what they look like, but put them in a mask with flashy colors and a cool attire, then we got something going. plus hurricane's got a big fat samoan who flies in Rosey and Stacy as their chinese fingertrap. bonus dude!! I also wish Kane kept the mask on.. BAD ASS.. although he is ugly.. with an awesome evil psycho look..wow he's got Madonna like tooth gap he's way cooler with the mask

Shane Helms would be wrestling at my former high school every Saturday night if it wasn't for his current gimmick. The gimmick isn't holding him down, it's just the lack of mic time/tv time. And even though he usually gets squashed, he's still over like rover.

Hardcore Holly
Because Hardcore=Bad wrestling in minds of wrestling fans (I think because of the WWF hardcore title)

If Hurricane didn't get so much airtime and love, I'd say him.
Other than that:
RVD Eugene Kane
I'm gonna get hate for this, but Ric Flair, too. We know what he can do and yet he's saddled with Triple-H-sitting duty. Tragedy.
