He has a strange variation of the same thing that affected Benjamin Button: his limbs age in reverse. Q.E.D. when he was younger, he was slow and stiff, whereas now that he's older, he's fast and nimble.

hmmm... so I don't get it right, how can an 'undertaker' be a 'deadman' , isn't that like a vet being an animal or a policeman being a criminal?

You work with the dead for so long, a part of you starts to die. Same thing with police officers: deal with criminals long enough and you might start to bend the law. It's a classic gangster movie/ film noir trope.

I get the impresion that the original idea was for him to be almost zombie like, but then his character evolved into a man that ISN'T dead but rather takes power from death... And then there's the whole demonic cult angle....
I must say, I too get confused reguarding the exact nature of the Undertaker.
I'd figure his 'dead man' intro would have been why he was slow and stiff in some early matches, but as his character was alowed to evolve, so was his wrestling style.... just a theory, but it makes sence. As for his speed now, I'd expect it has a lot to do with his level of experience. After being in the business as this character with these moves for so long it makes sence that he'd be able to exicute the moves faster and have better reaction time as he gets older instead of slowing down.

Well, you have to remember that he had those mystical powers that he drew from a sacred urn back then. Perhaps, he discovered how to fully harness those powers and enhance his speed over the years once he became urnless. It is in much the same way similar to people who are blind or legally blind that often learn to enhance their other 4 senses once they lose sight.

He is like Benjamin button. First he was dead, then he was alive and old, now he's youthful and full of energy. Expect him to start writing for WWE Kids in a few years.

It's quite simple, when he started he was just getting over a bad case of rigor mortis.

Well, you see, when he started he was dead but over time he became alive. Kind of like how Brad Pitt aged in reverse in that film, what its name, uh...
.... Oceans Twelve, thats the one.

He's Benjamin Button.
And I declare this thread under Benjamin Button rules, making my Benjamin Button joke the first one.
