If this was the first wrestling related thing I've ever seen...I'd be satisfied.

If only they'd filmed a segment where they were both high, laying on the bonnet of a car talking about life, it'd have been the greatest thing ever.

More WWE hypocrisy. It's okay to have RVD make weed jokes on TV, but when he's caught with it away from work, he gets in trouble. They knew full well he smoked and had no problem with it. They just wanted an excuse to take the titles off of him.

Either way, they WILLINGLY filmed, produced, and distributed it on their product.

They just wanted an excuse to take the titles off of him. The difference was, RVD was busted with it by the cops, and the story ended up in the press. They didn't want to just take the titles off him (at least not the ECW Title, I'm guessing they would have built the brand around him), it's that his weed problems were more public than Orton's, and ended up with legal trouble.

RVD got caught by the cops. And the media caught wind of it and put it in the press.
If he hadn't been caught by the cops, it would have been a totally different story.
I think he'd have lost the WWE belt soon still, but the ECW brand would have been built around him. I'd like to say he'd still be around, but due to the unfortunate situation with his wife's health he'd have left anyway.

They just wanted an excuse to take the titles off of him. That's the way it always is. The cop at my school talks to kids about it all the time, he probably smokes it himself, but if someone is caught with it or he knows someone has it on them, he'll either arrest them or they'll get suspended. It's okay to talk about it, it's okay if everyone knows you do it, but it's only illegal if they have proof.
