I was going through my cups of change to cash in last night when I decided to check if I had all the state quarters. I've been collecting them on and off over the years, just randomly putting aside ones I wasn't sure if I had, while also telling myself over and over again that I'll dig through the stash. And it turned out I had every single quarter representing the 50 United States. I set them aside and will get one of those booklets to store them.
On that note, does anyone else collect the quarters, now that they've all been made and circulated? Also, was anyone else here NOT aware that they've begun developing quarters representing Washington DC and the territories?

I was going to collect them back when they started it, but then I gave up and spent the quarters on vending machine snacks.

No. I mean, if people wanna collect 'em that's cool. But people who think they're gonna be worth something someday... they're not. Tons of people are collecting them and the SERIOUS ones got the uncirculated ones. Even then, they're likely not to be worth much more than their face value as even the uncirculated ones were mass produced by the government to meet demands (and who can blame them?)
Remember the Bicentials? They're over 30 years old now and they're barely worth more than a quarter in most cases (not counting uncirculated or mints). I think they average at like .26 or .27 according to most coin collecting books.
I collect coins somewhat, and I'll admit I have a few '76's set aside with other coins that aren't worth much like worn out wheatbacks.
If anyone wants some cool coins that are reasonable to find and buy... find the 1910-ish nickels (with the V on the back) or the steel pennies from WWII. They're great conversation pieces as a lot of people aren't familiar with either of them.
EDIT: Oh and for coins to look for that you may still find... any quarters from '64 or before. They contain silver. They're getting harder to come by as coin collectors have been snatching them up (getting rolls from banks, taking them out and returning them... my grandfather did this for a good while in the 60's and 70's when he worked on the road with Indian head pennies, buffalo and the V nickels and then wheatbacks).

Yeah, I was into it for a while when I was younger, thinking I'd get rich. I mean, you can with some knowledge and luck, but I just got a bit bored of it and now pretty much just set aside anything I like... mainly wheatbacks and anything from the 40's. I have some nickels in fairly good shape from around WWII, as nickels aren't handled as much (you're only going to get one if they have correct change). I did have a decent collection (in size, not value) from when I worked at a convenient store, but either my bro or his gf stole it. My dad has some set back for us like Indian heads and those $20 bills that are certified by the government in like silver or gold or something. (They quit doing that years ago)

My mom does. It's annoying as Hell. We'll be sitting at a fast food drive-thru in park for about 5 minutes because she wants to make exact change and she's going through all the quarters to make sure they're not state quarters. It makes me wanna hit the gas then hit the brakes hard so she'll jerk backward.

I held a few jobs over the years that involved handling money, and got a few silver quarters, some silver dimes (least I think they're silver), a couple of silver certificates, some Mercury head dimes, even a buffalo nickel that's really faded, just by being the guy that counted the till at night.
But on topic, I've got a bottle of change in my bedroom, and I'm sure I've probably got all 50.

My parents did, but I wanted to collect the president dollars.
Haven't started...I guess I'll just wait until Barack Obama's dollar comes out

Got all 50 AND have every proof set (A set of coins not touched by human hands) from 1999-2008 (will get the 2009 one also) The 2001 is the hardest to get (because I think production was ceased after the terrorist attacks) I have no plans of selling any of them. Also, they're going to be doing National Parks for 2010 and beyond: www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/NSQuartersProgram/index.cfm
