I disagree. We've never had this much farm talent in the last 10 years. There's 7 major league pitchers in the farm system right now with one of them making a start on Thursday (David Hernandez). I think we have like 4 pitchers in the top 50 prospects or something like that. Yeah. I recently saw Norfolk in action against Syracuse and Chris Tillman was absolutely lights out. True, it's against the Nats AAA team, but still. He'll get the call soon. Plus with Luke Scott, Reimold, and Wieters this is a team that could be the team to watch in 2010 Yeah, but Mark Prior, Angel Guzman, Carmen Pignatiello, Jae Kuk Ryu, Bobby Brownlie, Andy Sisco, and numerous other were "Can't Miss - Major League Ace" quality prospects who never panned out, even after fantastic minor league numbers, and one severely injured osprey. Never, ever, EVER count on prospects to pan out until they actually do. Kerry Wood and Mark Prior both had magical seasons (98 and 03, respectively). Zambrano has ace stuff and #3 temperament, which means #2 results. The Farns and Juan Cruz are holding down middle relief in KC. Scott Downs has sorta-closed for the Jays. Guzman is a Cub middle reliever. If you have 5 "Can't Miss" prospects, most likely you'll get two REAL major league starters. And GO F'N CUBS! There ain't nowhere in the standings for the words "rain shortened." Sean Marshall with the (in)complete game victory and a two-out RBI, while Hoffpauir contributed two RsBI, Fontenot raised his average to .219, and Kosuke Fukudome went yard for the fifth time in 2009.

After carrying the team and pitching Cy Young caliber baseball, Nick Swisher has just been murdering rallies as of late.
And apparently, the so lame that it's insane Rangers are taking advantage of the Yanks' 10,006 squanders tonight.

if Swisher is ever in a situation where it's bottom of the 9th with runners on and 2 outs and he strikes out, the headline the next day needs to be "Swish Miss"

There hasn't been enough of a discussion about it.
Zack Greinke is really f***ing good. Like, historically good. Like, "this is something we see once every three decades or so"-good.
Discuss amongst yourselves...

Discuss amongst yourselves... Apparently he got ahold of what Cliff Lee was taking last year. But it's still great to see that he's finally gotten over his anxiety and is living up to his potential. Still, he's not a runaway favorite for the Cy Young as long as Roy Halladay is around.

About time Jake Fox got called up to the main roster. Fox also makes the name of this thread irrelevant. But god, do the Cubs need more hitting....!

Rangers are for real buddy As real as a $3 bill maybe. They've gotten fat from the early season struggles of the Angels and the overall lack of competitive baseball from the rest of the AL West. The Yankees had every opportunity to blast Millwood into the stratosphere last night, and he's the ace of the Rangers staff. How real can the Rangers be when Kevin Millwood is their best pitcher?

Sure, they had every opportunity to blast Millwood......but they didn't get it done. The Rangers had every opportunity to be undefeated right now too, but they haven't won every game. Nelson Cruz had the opportunity to have 30 HR's right now, but he hasn't hit enough out. Tonight Derek Holland can make his name by shutting down the overrated Bronx Bombers. I feel like WILL do that.

Even as a big Mariner's fan, I will give Texas all the credit in the world. Sure, probably a lot of their wins are against other west teams, but more often then not, they're still getting it done against non-west teams, as well

No wonder Roy Halladay wants out.

Excellent! Back up the farm Omar! ;D Oh, yeah. JP Ricciardi is just going to be chomping at the bit for Fernando Martinez, Bobby Parnell, and Jonathon Niese.

Next time he should stand up to someone his own size and take on the Coke machine in the clubhouse.
