Scales for MVP and Thrilledge for the All-Star team. This is the league I love.

To answer Vyse, Ortiz would certainly fill the Mets standard since Hojo left of "first baseman who can hit but can't field for their lives"
Mets are gonna need another hitter though, especially if the rumors I'm hearing about Delgado are true (If therapy can't heel the hip, he'll likely need career ending surgery)

How on Earth did the Padres start off decent? The Cubs have made them look like fools the whole series.
Edit: And by Cubs I mean guys like Theriot, Scales, Miles, Fontenot, Johnson and the rest of the Backyard Bunch.

Scales is doing great. Definitely a feel good story for the sport. I'd sure as hell rather see him in the lineup then Aaron Miles.
The Cubs bullpen is really starting to come together. Gregg has been pitching lights out this month. Marmol looks healthy again. Heilman's not as bad as his numbers indicate. What really bloastered his ERA was that game against Florida a couple weeks ago when he gave up like 5 runs and failed to get 1 single out. Other than that, he's been pitching pretty good.

Wandy Rodriguez improves to 4-2, and struck out 11 doing so to take the series from Colorado. His ERA this season is 1.90.
Oh, and its so nice to see Bourn hitting.

I didn't think Bourn was capable of hitting. He always fit the Willy Taveras/Rajai Davis/Scott Podsednik mold of being really fast but not being able to steal first base.

Nah but I wouldn't be surprised if Putz gets traded at the deadline if healthy. I have this feeling he wants to close although I'm not sure Parnell is ready for the 8th after he nearly blew it last night.

They did, but Rafael Perez was sent to the minors.
At least he has the World Baseball Classic as an excuse.

Tigers RHP Juan Rincon elected to terminate his contract and try free agency rather than accepting a minor-league assignment.

Braves manager Bobby Cox announced Friday that Jo-Jo Reyes is heading to the bullpen, and Kris Medlen will be called up from Triple-A Gwinnett to get the start.

Ani, I've gotta say your team made a big mistake putting Darren O'Day on waivers.
He's given up 4 hits total, facing 28 batters so far, and one of those hits came in the game where he debuted about 20 minutes after arriving to the stadium.
Every time he comes out of the pen I feel like were in good hands.

I actually feel semi-comfortable with 4 of the 5 members of the starting rotation. Even all 5 from time to time. In the pen, O'Day and Derrick Holland are money. Frankie is lights out right now with his 0 ERA, and Jason Jennings has been WAY better then anything I imagined. CJ Wilson has been decent. If Kris Benson stays in the pen, I'm OK with it. Scott Feldman hasn't made me want to kill myself yet watching him start, which is more then I can say for last year.

He's a good clutch hitter with some power and plays a solid first base, but he's losing more and more at-bats with Victor Martinez, and now Mark DeRosa and Matt LaPorta getting time at first. He also originally came up as a catcher, and he's seen some time in the outfield in spring training and a few regular season games. The Indians would most likely ask for pitching in return.

Yeah, two games in I was ready to ship him to AAA. Since Taylor Teagarden has become his personal catcher, he's been great.
