Did anyone else find that finish rather odd, like it looked like Rey got legitimately injured and then just quickly went to the comeback. I know it looked like he didn't get his hands up in time for the face drop on the apron and that knee from Regal looked like it connected stiffly. Is there a report out or something about this?

I wondered the same thing. Looked like Rey got pissed on the kneelift and threw a couple of stiff shots.

Yeah, I thought he went a little bit hard on him after Regal stiffed him. Good on him, I guess.

Regal has a rep for being a bit stiff so if you get a bit irked he lands the odd stiff blow don't act like an idiot.

Why shouldn't Rey do it back?
If Regal hits you with a stiff shot, do it back. He can take it.

If you know its gonna scold you shouldnt really act shocked im not sure if youre aware of this but rey is a wrestler, not a booker, he has no choice of who he wrestles but as with all wrestlers goes into the match in good faith putting his body in the hands of who hes working with, he has every damn right to get pissed if some idiot works what he considers too stiffly on him

The only thing I hate is that a large amount of people hung guys like Bob Holly out to to dry for this very same thing... yet stiffs like Regal get love for being stiff. There's a difference. Bob Holly is stiff to take advantage of workers and to legitimately hurt them. A good worker is one who can protect his opponent (at least to an extent) in the ring, and when Bob Holly shoots, he fails to do so. William Regal works a stiff style, but strictly in the way that he might connect a little more with those knees and those fists. I can't recall any workers that have been injured by Regal, and maybe there have been, but the point is that Regal doesn't go out there and stiff someone just for the sake of it - it's just the way he works. It's the same with Samoa Joe, or Steve Austin, or Nigel McGuinness, or Vader...they aren't stiffing guys because they dislike them or want to get themselves over, like Baldcore, they just work a different style than a majority of American workers. Understand what I mean?

when Bob Holly shoots, he fails to do so. So does Rey Mysterio apparently. If you use the "I'm your Papi" storyline as your source

Regal is stiff, but you can be stiff right back and he don't take it personal., just look at his matched with Benoit

I really just assumed it was, kayfabe, Rey playing possum, then suprising Regal.

The idea of Rey Mysterio stiffing anyone makes me laugh. It'd be like a nat landing on the underside of your hat bill.(I hate that because it's annoying, much like Rey stiffing a guy as big as Regal would feel.)

So you're supposed to be stiff with someone back if they do it to you first? Never knew that.
