Anyone here listened to to their new record, The Devil You Know?
I was looking for any thoughts/reviews on it. I dug Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules, so I was wondering if I should give this a chance.

I played it on my radio show last Saturday. I like it.
I haven't had a chance to listen to the album in-depth but I will be playing more cuts from it on tonight's show.

I was wondering about it myself. Was thinking of picking it up, and I never buy CD's.

Yup. I'm probably the biggest Black Sabbath fan you'll find on this board. I bought the album on the date of release, and had a friend of mine in the States mail me a copy of the Best Buy exclusive with the bonus DVD, so I actually own two copies of the album. I'm looking into buying the vinyl release, too.
As for the album, it's no Heaven and Hell or Mob Rules, but it's really a good, solid slice of classic heavy metal. It reminds me of the Dehumanizer album, with the dark, brooding lyrics, as well as the ultra-heavy, stripped down production. Bible Black was a great choice for the single, as it's a standout track and is destined to become a classic. I love the bass work by Geezer Butler on Double The Pain, and Follow The Tears sounds delightfully evil.
Even in their 60s, these guys outclass a lot of the current, so-called metal bands currently out there. Iommi can still churn out riffs effortlessly, and Dio, even at 67 years old, sounds as though he's barely aged.
With Ozzy suing Iommi over the rights to the Black Sabbath name, I'm pretty confident that that band is done and over with, which is unfortunate, but probably for the better anyway. I'd love to hear at least one more Heaven and Hell album before Dio goes back to his solo stuff and eventually calls it a career.
This was probably more insight than you were looking for, but that's my 2 cents.
