The Halcyon Company Presentation of a Moritz Borman Production of a McG Film, “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins” is directed by McG from a script by Michael Ferris and John Brancato. The film is being produced by Moritz Borman, Derek Anderson, Victor Kubicek and Jeffrey Silver and executive produced by Peter D. Graves, Bahman Naraghi, Mario F. Kassar, Andrew G. Vajna, Joel B. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind. The film also stars Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese, Charlotte Gainsbourg as Kate Connor, Moon Bloodgood as Blair Williams, Common as Barnes, and Jadagrace as Star. “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins” marks the latest installment of the multi-billion dollar Terminator franchise and will be the first film in a new Terminator trilogy. The film is scheduled for a North American theatrical release May 22, 2009. The Halcyon Company acquired all Terminator franchise rights in May 2007. Bale is awesome, but McG? Can't we get a good director?

If it doesn't have Arnold, it's not a Terminator movie. They shouldn't even think of starting filming until he's done Governating.

If it doesn't have Arnold, it's not a Terminator movie. They shouldn't even think of starting filming until he's done Governating. Yeah, without him, all Terminator is "Mad Max meets the Matrix." That's why you shouldn't do a Terminator Film set in the future. Because that's all it is. Unless Skynet has Bender's personality, or HK-47, either one. "Primary Target: Meatbag John Connor. Secondary Target: Alcohol, TOK715 hookerbot and blackjack"

Terminator and PG-13 just doesn't mix well with me. Who the hell thinks "young teenagers" and "Terminator" in the same goddamn sentence?
I know the R rating really only applies to language now, which is pretty stupid. Brains and human extermination is fine, but god forbid you drop an f-bomb when the robots destroy humanity.

McG: Next Film Goes Where No Terminator Has Gone Before When "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins" appears in theaters on May 22, 2009, fans can expect to see new sights, discover new glimpses into the future only dreamed of and follow John Connor's mission to save humanity like never before, according to DarkHorizons.com. "We've officially started principal photography on 'Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins,'" McG said in his production blog. "Like you guys, I've been a long-time fan of the series, and I understand your passion for the 'Terminator' movies -- and it's my full intention to deliver a film that lives up to the previous three installments. I've spent time with James Cameron, spoken to Arnold Schwarzenegger, gone over the story with Jonah Nolan, and enlisted Stan Winston." Perhaps the most intriguing part of this new "Terminator" vision will be seeing Christian Bale, best known to genre fans as Batman in two films, embody the adult John Connor. John Connor will be pushed to the brink," noted the film's director. "And for me, Christian Bale embodies Connor's strength and tenacity perfectly. And after visiting Sam Worthington on the set of Avatar, I know he's perfect for his role." Another new face for a familiar name will be Anton Yelchin portraying Kyle Reese, who was originally brought to life in the first two "Terminator" feature films by Michael Biehn. "[Anton's] prep has been unbelievable. The guy's been watching all three 'Terminators' incessantly, and he's definitely going to capture the essence of the character," McG said. And that's not all "Terminator" fans can look forward to. Look for new graphics and sets to bring the future to life. "Everything we're shooting is designed to be tactile and real," he said. "You'll be seeing a whole set of inspired designs you've never seen before, and best of all you'll finally get to see some of the post-judgment day future that was only hinted at in the previous movies." www.syfyportal.com/news425072.html

I am the only one who thinks this will turn out to be a Zombie film, but with killbots? I mean, it can't be a war film. So it's going to be an endless stream of killbots versus a few human survivors. ie a Zombie film.

I've always wanted a Terminator movie based in the future so I can't wait.
I will miss Arnold though, as I'm a huge Schwarzenegger fan. If he can even make a cameo at least I'll be happy though.

I just hope they keep continuity with the TV show. It's my current favorite thing on TV and would hate for this movie to come along and piss on it all as totally irrelevant in the Terminator Universe.

I doubt that'll happen, since the series is an alternate timeline to the films after T2. I'd love to see Cameron there though. Good old Cameron.

Bryce Dallas Howard eyes 'Terminator' Bryce Dallas Howard is in negotiations to replace Charlotte Gainsbourg in "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins." Gainsbourg was originally set to play Kate Connor, the wife of human resistance hero John Connor, played by Christian Bale. The actress had to bow out because of scheduling conflicts with another film, a French comedy. Production on "Terminator," directed by McG, is already underway in New Mexico. If an actors strike were to happen, shooting would stop and then restart at a later date, potentially butting heads with the French film. Gainsbourg, last seen in Todd Haynes' "I'm Not There," is repped by UTA and One Entertainment. Howard last starred as Gwen Stacy in "Spider-Man 3" and next stars in the "The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond," based on a long-forgotten screenplay by Tennessee Williams. She is repped by ICM and Management 360. www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3ie29ff31c80c6e3df7248e00c9e68a25e

No Arnold, No Terminator. May God have wrath on their souls for bastardizing the series. That being said, when are they going to make a Robocop vs Terminator movie?

I've been iffy on this movie because I don't want them to totally ignore the Sarah Connor Chronicles in it, but the news of Bryce Dallas Howard has renewed my interest in seeing this thing.
