I'm 15 and I live at home with my parents. My Mum says I can pay her rent each month to stay here if I go to Uni, she thinks a nursing course would let me go to Uni during the day and come home in the evenings. Score. A friend of mine does nursingin Edinburgh. Got put on placement and has to do nightshifts from 6pm til 6am two weeks per month. You have been warned.

Rent. I pay too much, but I'm not locked into a lease so it's ok. Same here. I live alone in a pretty big house, but I pay up to $800 monthly for a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 3 car garage crib. It's the same house I've lived in since I was about 4. I'm currently 25, so it was just convenient to stay here once I graduated and stopped living in a college dorm.

My rent used to be $1400 a month for a two bedroom two bathroom apartment.
Now each month for three rooms costs about $1600.
As for the original poster, I would purchase the house since it is cheaper in the short term, and you can use it as an investment property in the long term. In a few years, you'll be able to sell the house off *if you wish to do so* and make a return on it.

I am 23 and I own. My wife and I just bought our first home last month. Its great, lived on-base for 2 years and lived in an apartment for 2 years, both sucked.

Oooh, I feel so exclusive!
Yes, I own a house. Shame I lost my job about 6 months into getting it. Luckily unemployment is keeping me afloat.

I rent a house, down the street from where my father and younger brother live, and a few minutes away from where my older brother and his wife live.

I rent an apartment with my fiance. It was ok living with family, but nothing beats the freedom of living in your own place.

Still live with my parents but will probably have my own appartment once I graduate college around 2011.
Being a home owner is one of my big goals right now. It's far away but I'm looking forward to it.

Rent an apartment with my wife and kid. I'm still in school(at 30 sadly) and once i graduate, hopefully the economy will be good enough for me to get a job and save for a down-payment on a house. We have to pay a ton of bills first since our little boy was born 10 weeks early last year and NICU stays are expensive, even with insurance.
