Ah, the draft. You might not know this, but 5 years ago, it was the draft that brought me back to wrestling after a 3 year break. I think that the draft is the most exciting part of WWE, as you always want to see what crazy picks will happen. Who can forget when Triple H was drafted to SmackDown last year after being to poster boy for RAW since the brand split? And don't tell me you weren't shocked when John Cena showed up as the first pick back in 2005. Well, next week, the 7th(!) draft will take place on RAW.
WHO GOT DRAFTED:
To RAW: -WWE Champion Triple H -The Big Show -Matt Hardy -WWE United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter -Mike "The Miz" Mizanin -WWE Diva's Champion Maryse Ouellet
To SmackDown: -Mr. Money in the Bank CM Punk -Kane -WWE Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio -Chris Jericho -WWE Women's Champion Melina Perez
To ECW: -Vladimir Kozlov
Wednesday is the Supplemental Draft, where the mundane get traded for the pointless, and ECW gets its next champion.

I believe JBL actually retired.
Not future endevoured, not retire from wrestling... but actually retired from the company.
That's at least what his personal blog makes it sound like.

does the Draft really even matter anymore? They never stick to the brand split. They cross promote way too much killing any momentum that the draft could have.
the only thing they could do that would surprise me is end the brand split on raw and smackdown and keep ECW as a small developmental separate show. Of course they have way too many championships so they will not do this anytime soon.

RAW should get: The Big Show Vladimir Kozlov Mark Henry (with Tony Atlas) Jim Ross
Since Cena is the RAW champion, these three big guys could be good opponents for him; and Cena has put on some decent matches with big guys. As for Jim Ross, I just miss him on RAW.
SmackDown! should get: Christian Randy Orton Priceless Michael Cole
I want Edge and Christian on the same show, especially with the Hardys (we could see Edge and Matt VS Jeff and Christian). And, with Triple H on SmackDown!, they can continue his feud with Orton and Legacy on SmackDown!, especially with the rumors of Edge's sabbatical. Also, I want Cole on SmackDown! reunited with JBL!
ECW should get: William Regal THE Brian Kendrick Charlie Haas
These three guys aren't really doing anything on the shows they're on. But, on ECW they could do a lot. And, plus think of the great matches we could see among these guys, with Finlay and Jack Swagger thrown into the mix of course.

I'd like to see these changes:
To Smackdown: Randy Orton (as WWE Champ, taking it from Trips at Backlash) CM Punk (More room for main event faces) Mike Knox (Room to grow) Priceless (Stick with Orton)
To RAW: John Morrison (Mid card and on his own, feud with Rey?) Triple H (back on RAW as top or second to top face) Edge (feud with Cena, and Trips) Christian (team/feud with Edge) Mark Henry (he just needs off ECW)
To ECW: Ezekiel Jackson (Give him a chance to sink or swim) Umaga (Move him there and give him the Mark Henry role of kick ass champion) MVP (Matt Hardy role from last year) Hurricane Helms (redebut as Hurricane and see if he can still go)

does the Draft really even matter anymore? They never stick to the brand split. They cross promote way too much killing any momentum that the draft could have. With the exception of the ECW travelers that happen [and that just makes sense] and probably from now on the Tag Teams, this really only happens around Mania

Hmmm....
To RAW Big Show(keep the Vickie/Big Show dynamic ging) Matt Hardy(Raw could use a good midcard heel, and they need to be seperate for now) Michelle McCool(I sense a face turn with Beth soon) Vladimir Kosloz( Ending the streak can be a moot point, Snitsky was suddenly undefeated again when he jumped to RAW) Christian(he's proven he's still got the fanbase, and a good feud with a heel Matt Hardy would be cool) Edge(somehow finagling his way to RAW to get revenge on Cena and Vickie, possibly picking up the remnants of Legacy as his new crew(see Smackdown moves) Miz
To Smackdown: Orton(I think they realize Legacy isn't really doing anything, and they obviously love the HHH/Orton feud) Evan Bourne(they get thier own high flying underdog ala Rey) John Morrison(big singles push) Mark Henry(With Show gone they need a big bruiser) Kofi Kingston(good solid midcard face to make up for Evan Bourne's iffy charisma) William Regal(immediately assuming the GM status with layla) Mickie James (there's really no strong face Divas on Smackdown) Surprise annoucement of Joey Styles as the new Smackdown! color guy
To ECW: MVP (Not because he's doing bad but to let him build a strong face following) Kane(replacing Henry) Brian Kendrick(with special contract stip Ezekial MUST go with him since he's on kendricks payroll not WWE's, great second chance if he doesn't mess up) Umaga(another great rookie killer) R-Truth( he's been floundering, but he's over enough to be a big fish in a little pond) Dolph Ziggler(gets heat, just needs to build slower) Natalia(place her firmly with Tyson Kidd)

S'pose this is a good place to post a little something I was working on. The 2008 Draft "Where are they now?" list
Raw: Batista (Returned from injury this week) Rey Mysterio (Steady in midcard, new Intercontinental Champion) CM Punk (Triple Crown champion within a year, once again Mr Money In The Bank) Kane (Dropped the ECW belt, back to being JTTS) Michael Cole (The less said, the better) Jamie Noble (Program with Regal suddenly dropped, went back to running his mouth and getting squashed) Deuce: (Not used for ages, becomes Sim Snuka, joins Legacy, kicked out of Legacy. Seemingly only a commentary spot will save him from the axe) Chuck Palumbo (Fired) Matt Striker (Not used much until the post-Foley commentator shuffle gave him the spot on ECW) Layla (Back down to valet as her wrestling is so bad even the WWE won't book her in a match) Kofi Kingston (IC and Tag Title runs, being pushed rather well right now)
Post-draft Kelly Kelly (Steadily pushed as a top babyface diva although it's cooled somewhat lately) Mike Knox (Younger, hairier version of Snitsky brought over to fill the standard hoss role)
Smackdown Jeff Hardy (Finally broke into the main event and became champion, then shifted into grudge match with Matt) Umaga (Suffered an injury early on which kept him out most of the year, working his way back with squash matches) Jim Ross (The move seems to have sucked all the passion out of JR) Mr Kennedy (Injured early on, last seen being a lame shill for a straight-to-DVD movie.) Triple H (On title reign no.13. Still on top, same as ever) Trevor Murdoch (Contract not renewed after refusing a storyline, never appeared on Smackdown) Big Daddy V (Released after failing to lose weight, never appeared on Smackdown) DH Smith (Still down in FCW. His planned return with TJ Wilson never materialised with rumours of Smith' backstabbing involved) Brian Kendrick (Started with a new gimmick and big bodyguard. Push halted supposedly due to repeated fines for marijuana use) Maria (Top face among Smackdown divas, perennial contender for the Butterfly Belt) Shelton Benjamin (Returned to Smackdown for lengthy US title reign before losing it to MVP) Carlito (Teamed up with his debuting brother which finally lit a fire under him. One half of the Unified Tag Champs)
Post-draft Smackdown has effctively taken back the talent it gave to ECW. Including Matt Hardy and Chavo Guerrero
ECW Matt Hardy (6-month run as ECW champion befoe dropping it to Swagger, returned to Smackdown shortly after to feud with Jeff) Finlay and Hornswoggle (Top faces on ECW after Matt left with Finlay in the role of teacher to the new wrestlers coming in) Mark Henry (Took the ECW title off Kane before losing it to Matt Hardy, used regularly as a major heel) Super Crazy (Got fed up with being a jobber and walked out)
Post draft Matt Striker (see above) Alicia Fox (returned as full-time wrestler/valet after the end of the storyline with Edge) Paul and Katie Lea Burchill (An attempt to salvage the Burchills, although has been losing more often than he wins)
