Note: I'm sorry if I've been really slow these days on the Top Anime Characters list. It's been raining heavily here for a few days already so my internet connection is a bit affected, plus the cold weather makes me really sleepy. As compensation, here's Kyonko from a doujin I found: Damn it, she's just too cute. The previous page was way better, though I can't post it due since it'll break the forum rules. Well you can't post it, but you CAN PM it. *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge* Just PM it to me, damn it.

on the advice of this forum i picked up samurai champloo boxset last week, and whilst i doesnt seem anywhere near the league of cowboy bebop, im still thoroughly enjoying it. Sorry to bug you all again, but i think im becoming slightly addicted to this medium, and was looking for peoples opinions on trigun, as im looking to pick up that series as well. All input would be hella appreciated

All input would be hella appreciated Trigun is awesome. It starts out kinda comedic but then becomes super serial around episode 18 or so. Trigun and Cowboy Bebop are Gateway Anime, in that they are the series most new comers to anime watch first. Then they move onto Outlaw Star, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Tenchi Muyo! and either Mobile Fighter G Gundam or Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.

yeah im pretty new to the whole anime thing, ive been watching it for years but only films such as akira, ninja scroll et al. Ive only recently been getting into the series and im mostly looking for the standalone ones as opposed to the ones that are seemingly endless (such as naruto, pokemon, dragon ball z etc)

I just started on watching Fushigi Yugi, which I'm borrowing from one of my college friends. Interesting show so far.

I've found in my experiences it's always the opposite way, one starts with Outlaw Star, YYH, Tenchi, or Gundam as a gateway, or even DBZ and Sailor Moon, and then they move on to the more mature stuff like Bebop and etc. And Morpheus...yes.

Hell I think any GOOD anime should work as a gateway series, as one of my friends who was interested in anime but never actually saw an anime, he sat in during an anime club meeting last year and the show we watched that meeting was Spiral, and he was hooked.

In other news, Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's sucks. Was ANYONE expecting that to be good at all?

Hell I think any GOOD anime should work as a gateway series. This is how any artistic immersion should work in theory but it isn't how it works in real life with exceptions here and there.

Right people, you have a choice here You can hear me rant on how Fist Of The North Star is the best Japanese Animation ever. Or You can hear me rant on how much I hate the Anime Community. Go ahead. I'm a DBZ fan. I'm game.

I think it actually started this way for me:
Voltron Dragonball Z Gundam Wing Tenchi Muyo! (Got into that and Tenchi Universe, but never got into Tenchi in Tokyo. Don't know why.) Outlaw Star Lupin the Third Cowboy Bebop Trigun Inuyasha Then it kinda wavers off into multiple directions.

You can hear me rant on how much I hate the Anime Community. I'm would also like to read this rant. I would also like to add what anime's got me into anime. Most are anime films. Ninja Scroll Akira 8 Man After Fist Of The North Star Devilman (OVA) Vampire Hunter D Casshan Black Lion Golgo 13: The Professional Space Adventure Cobra

Hm, I've been watching anime since I was a kid, so I'm not really sure if there is a specific anime that got me hooked. In any case, I think I started watching more anime during the same time I discovered a store selling bootleg copies of fansubbed anime, which was about six to eight years ago.

Oh, I almost forgot to say this, but if you watch anime, then you should definitely watch Monster.

So, which DBZ movie would you recommend?
I don't want to waste my money on the series saga sets, so I want to buy a DBZ movie, which one is the best?
