Most people don't have much need of a twitter, but the idea that it's some anathema shows people are effected by hype a lot more than they probably think they are, only in the reverse.
Only thing I hate about Twitter is the news attention. Otherwise, I don't use it, other than checking the updates of a select few people. I don't really care about it outside of that, other than saying the creators had a smart move under their belt.

Twitter can be extremely useful if you're following the right people. Due to the people I'm following, I can get all of my news and sports updates in one place which is very handy for me.
I believe that Twitter is a growing society. Soon enough, everyone will have one like how most people have a Facebook now.

It's not bad. I don't check my account much but I have several 'Crappers following me (and I'm following them too).
A novelty but I do follow a lot of beer-related sites so it's helpful to know what beer is out there that I should buy, etc.

Twitter is where @michaelianblack posts jokes.
I get to see who died today by looking at the Trending Topics feature, except today. Farah's name isn't there because MJ-related topics are taking up nine out of ten slots.
Or f'rinstance, if I get home from work and see that my friend was feeling blue five hours ago, so I can either try to cheer him up or make fun of him because five hours have passed and he's probably not feeling blue now.
Or if someone says Conan's really funny tonight, I can get my hopes up while waiting for hulu to put it online.

I've been using Twitter as just another outlet for posting random crap that pops into my mind. I realize it's completely and utterly pointless so I treat it that way (especially since I don't text from my cellaphone hardly ever). Unfortunately, I only have like 3 people following me so it's kinda useless. So yeah, accepting followers theryno665. As for my stance on Facebook vs MySpace, I just joined Facebook about a few months ago and found it to be a lot more useful and user friendly. Just about everyone I know has reverted from MySpace to Facebook and I can see why, especially since MySpace is trying to turn into Facebook and failing horribly. I'm still on MySpace but not nearly as much as I used to be. As it stands right now, I keep Facebook for all the people I know personally and MySpace for bands and other random crap. Seriously, my MySpace has become a veritable shanty town of the Internets.
