But, that just a small gripe, other then that I thought the playoffs were fantastic!! Now, here's hoping my Leafs can make the f***ing post season next year I'll sign up right now for a Leafs Islanders 2002 rematch. That was an EPIC playoff series.

I really think Dan Bylsma should get the MVP. I think his style was what got The Pens to the cup.

Congrats to the Pens. I am not happy, but congrats anyway.......... so let's start talkin' draft. Actually the draft could be interesting this year, just because there's no guaranteed number 1 pick like there has been the past few years. Plus, as a Leafs fan, I'm really hopin' Burke can move us up a few spots and get another solid draft pick like last year. EDIT: Also, Awards show is live from Vegas next Thursday

What a great moment. As someone who's old enough to actually REMEMBER the last time the Pens lifted the Stanley Cup to watch that tonight was just so great....and really you couldn't write it better.....the game was alive till literally the last second.

Me too, I still have all my Penguins posters and crap from when I was a kid. I was a HUGE Lemieux when I was a kid, and was a huge Pens fans until his first retirement. Still a big fan of the Pens, but they take a backseat to my Leafs. Still, awesome to see them get another Cup.

Might as well name the last 10 months "Bad s*** that happens to the state of Michigan".
-Lions go 0-16 -Michigan has the worst football season in the program's 126-year history. -Michigan State gets blown out at home in the NCAA Title game by UNC -Red Wings lose Game 7 of the Cup finals at home -The Tigers underachieving -The Pistons barely making the playoffs after trading Billups for Iverson and getting swept by Cleveland.

Hey, Skrat... ![](http://onfrozenblog.com/2009/03/12/Hershey_Bears_Calder_Trophy.jpg) How 'bout those Moose, eh? That would hurt more if I actually really cared about the Moose. I'm disappointed, don't get me wrong, but nobody really cares about AHL here. WHL (Junior hockey) is way more popular then AHL unless you live in Winnipeg. Still, would have been nice to see the Moose win ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) Ya, that's a good description of my following of the Moose, total bandwagon jumper. I used to follow them really close when I lived in the city (and the were still in the IHL) but now I only really pay attention during the playoffs.

Shit! The Moose lost as well? f***.
Anyway, about the draft, Tavres is going first, unless someone deals up to get him. To get him, you'll basically need to sell the farm. If Burke wants to move up Schen is involved in any deal. For anyone else, you're looking at tons of picks, plus a top line player and a prospect. A lot to give up considering we don't know if Tavres can hang in the NHL.
I wouldn't do it if I were anyone. Better to let the Islanders fold and get Tavres in a dispersal draft.

Ya, I don't expect Burke to trade up to #1, and he's made it very clear that Schenn is the only player on the team who he isn't willing to trade. But, I do expect him to try and trade up for the 4 or 5 spot, like Fletcher did last year. As for Tavares, jury is still out on him. Plus, he went from being a guaranteed #1 pick at the beginning of the season to only Top 3 now which isn't a good sign. We'll see how he turns out

Just as an interesting note, the complete order of active roster players as they touched the cup...
1. Sidney Crosby 2. Bill Guerin 3. Sergei Gonchar 4. Miroslav Satan 5. Petr Sykora 6. Hal Gill 7. Philippe Boucher 8. Ruslan Fedotenko 9. Craig Adams 10. Mark Eaton 11. Matt Cooke 12. Pascal Dupuis 13. Chris Kunitz 14. Brooks Orpik 15. Rob Scuderi 16. Marc-Andre Fleury 17. Max Talbot 18. Evgeni Malkin 19. Jordan Staal 20. Eric Godard 21. Kris Letang 22. Tyler Kennedy 23. Chris Minard 24. Alex Goligoski 25. Mike Zigomanis 26. Coach Dan Bylsma
Mainly, I post this, because I'm curious. I know I should know this, but I'm unclear on the NHL rules for this. How many games does a player have to have played to be eligible to be on the cup? I'm not sure Goligoski or Minard played enough games this year.
Goligoski played 45, so I think he has enough, but Minard only played 20.

Either 40 regular season games or at least one game in the finals.

Either 40 regular season games or at least one game in the finals. I thought you just had to be dressed for atleast one game in the finals regardless of whether you see ice time or not (ie Back up goalie)

Pittsburgh > any city on Earth. Yeah I live in LA but originally from Pitt. I'd move back if any company there could match my pay but unfortunately haven't found one that can yet. Let's Go Pens, Here we go Steelers Here We Go, and Let's Go Bucs!!!! Well 2 out of 3 ain't bad anyways.
