On Wikipedia it says the New Class lasted from 1993 to 2000. That is a pretty long time. It must have had good ratings for NBC. Maybe the later New Class was better. It also says that its original airdate in '93 was September 11.....we will never forget. I saw the first season or two before losing interest for the most part, mainly due to the turnover in the cast making for a bit of inconsistency for a sitcom but here's something I never noticed before until reading the "cast" part of the wiki page "Samantha Esteban as Maria Lopez"....Well played Saved By The Bell: The New Class, well played. I find it odd that the Scott Ericson character lasted only one season. Pretty bad when the Zack Morris of the New Class lasts only one year. Also Natalia Cigliuti who played Lindsay Warner is now on the show Raising The Bar. Appropriately enough co-starring with Mark-Paul GosselaarI noticed that too!

I love how Screech went from a genius nerd as a kid to borderline retarded when he came back to Bayside.
What do you suppose happened to him?

I remember the show had blatant re-hashes of old episodes, and they only way they would try to redeem it is by having Screech say, "I remember when my buddy Zack did this really wacked out thing." then they'd do it exactly the same way, same jokes, same everything.

Someone should hijack this thread talking about AC Slatering. You rang? About a year and a half ago, I got absolutely hammered off of jager shots. When I got home, I had to use the bathroom and all of a sudden as I looked at the toilet, I was reminded of the delightful little story I read about 'A.C. Slatering'. So I decided now would be the perfect time to try this seeing as that I really didn't want to stand any longer. So I tried it. After a few seconds, I decided to lay my head on the tank because, well, I really didn't want to keep my head up any longer either. Four and a half hours later, I woke up on the toilet buck naked. It was a whimsical evening.

I watched the first season of it. I remembered when Zack and Slater guest starred midway through the first or second season. I remember thinking, "Well that didn't take too long."

It's Saved by the Bell. If I recall correctly the show had at least half a dozen clones on TNBC during it's long run, that were pretty much all Saved by the Bell. So I'm guessing you may have outgrown the show.

Rachel on the series was the only reason to watch.
Then again, she was a horrible actress... most of the acting was so wooden, it was hard to watch.

I remember that episode. Screech had been on the show for about a year or so, and Lisa also appeared with Zack and Slater. The episode was part 2 of this really stupid two parter. It began with some guy who used to be a student at Bayside and had grown up to be a millionaire coming to Bayside and announcing that he had bought the school. Or, it may have been the land the school was on, but either way he was having the school shut down. This didn't make any sense because Bayside High is a public school. There's no way the government would someone buy a school or the land a school was on. Anyway, the kids spent the episode trying to get the guy to not shutdown the school. They eventually found out that when he was in school he only had one friend. So, they tracked this woman and asked her to convince him to reconsider. She agreed, and they arranged a meeting at Bayside's last dance. However, the woman ended up canceling the meeting because took place on the same day as her nephew's wedding anniversary. The school is doomed, and there is nothing anyone can do about. So, the kids just suck it up and go to the dance. This is when Slater and Lisa showed up. Of course, the millionaire shows up acting like a douche. Then, a miracle happened!!!! The woman shows up! Why? Well, remember that nephew who was having an anniversary party the woman cancelled the meeting for? He turned out to be: ZACK MORRIS!!!! So, Zack shows up, the woman and millionaire become friends again, his heart grow 10 sizes like the Grinch after hearing the Whos in Whoville singing, and I'm left wondering where the helly Kelly was. I mean, she and Zack got married! Why wouldn't she come to see the school she also attended be saved!? I was also left wondering why I watched these episodes. And, now, I'm left wondering how come I remember this episode so well.

I kinda dug it. It's also funny how it seemed to last as long if not longer than the original show. I may give it a rewatch someday down the line when it's all on DVD.
I'll tell you though...it was no California Dreams.

I liked the format where no one would last more than 4 seasons (except Belding and Screech). IIRC there was a season opener where one of the guys was talking to his girlfriend, a character who was a senior in the previous season and thus didn't return the next season, and she dumped him.
And wasn't the school closed down or something in the last season?
But I remember very little else. Probably a good thing.
