...then wake up and think you're late for something? I remember waking up a couple of times at night after a nap and thinking I was late for school. And getting dressed in uniform and rushing to the parade field for morning formation...at 8 at night. This ever happen to you guys? And how far did you end up going?

My sister once woke me up and tricked me into believing that I was late for school. It was raining at that time so I didn't realize that it was already past 5 in the afternoon, and the fact that it was a Sunday as well.

As a kid, I took a nap at about 6 PM and woke up at 8 PM. It was dark, but still light outside, so I thought it was 8 in the morning; I thought I was an hour late for school. Of course, I rush downstairs and see my parents watching primetime TV, so I quickly figured out that it was still nighttime.

The best naps are the ones in the middle of the day where you sleep for like 3 hours and wake up wrapped in a blanket. A cocoon of comfortable.

I've never woken from a nap to think that I had somewhere to be or something. But, I did lay down for a nap in nice, fall weather only to wake up to feel cold, wintery weather. Made me wonder momentarily if I had slept for a lot longer than just a few hours.

Never had it happen with a nap, but I once woke up at around 3:30am and somehow was convinced that I was late and going to miss the bus for school. Went to the bus stop and everything until I realized there were no cars on the road as there usually were around the time I waited for said bus.
Went home to sleep and......missed the bus.

This is probably irrelivent, but it's still hilarious.
One time, I woke up at about 4am from a dream - and I was convinced that I had sewn a little mouse in a bag and hidden it in my room somewhere, except I had forgotten where I had hidden it.
So I get up, and turned my room upside-down for about 20 minutes looking for thie mouse-in-a-bag. I even went into the garage and checked in my car. Eventually I just started laughing at how rediculous the situation was.
Just thought I'd share.

One sticks out in my mind:
It was probably sophomore or junior year...apparently I was pretty tired that night, and I fell asleep around 8 or 9. I woke up at about 11 o clock and started freaking out. I got up and hastily threw on some clothes, grabbed my backpack and rushed out the door. I made it about halfway up the street when I realized it was pitch dark outside.
11 PM. Not 11 AM.
Dammit.

Totally guilty of this myself. I've fallen asleep at 3AM, only to wake up at 6PM, thinking it was 6AM and mistaking dusk for dawn. Screws me right up.

Well, I don't remember any instanceof this happening to me. But I did wake up at at around 8.00 AM and thinking "oh s*** I'm like an hour late! The teachers are gonna kill me!" only to realize it was Saturday or Sunday.

A few months ago, I took a nap, and when I woke up I thought I missed a final exam for college.
The catch, I haven't been in college for about 10 years.

That's happened to me quite a bit. I woke up at 5 A.M. and thought I had school. So I got dressed in my uniform, had breakfast, packed my bag, and went outside to wait for the bus. I was out there for like 20 minutes before I realized I was on vacation.

At a football camp, we had a big samoan player that just slept, slept and slept. We were in a period of a couple days where we had a lot of free time. He was fast asleep at around 6pm, i woke him up and convinced him we were both late for training (the next morning). I told him to get ready asap and rushed out the door. A couple minutes of waiting, he came out completely geared up, boots, mouthguard etc. He was half asleep and had his jersey over the pads on backwards. He saw us laughing, dropped his helmet, turned around and went back to bed. In gear
pretty dicky of us really.

"You ever fall asleep on a late-afternoon - and you wake up after dark...and you don't know what goddamn day it is?" If you have a swing-shift schedule, it really messes with your mind.

Oh, definitely. One day last year, I had just gotten home from my college classes around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, totally wiped out and ready to take a slight nap. As it turned out, that "slight nap" turned out to be last quite a bit more than I intended. I woke up, picked up my watch, and saw that it said 9:00. And I started FREAKING out, because my first class started at about 8:30 in the morning, which meant I was way late. So I'm frantically getting out of bed, getting dressed, and trying to scatter my books up into my backpack, until I open my curtains, look out my window, and wonder why it's still dark as night at 9 AM. Unless, of course, it wasn't 9 AM, but 9 PM. I got as far as getting fully dressed in new clothes and having my backpack almost fully packed for a school day before I stopped myself.
