I'm not talking the diva search, tough enough, or whatever you people are complaining about these days. This question is a throwback to the Attitude days. I recently checked out obsessed with wrestling, after all the hub ub about it, and stumbled across this article www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/columns/misc/ditto02.html and while I don't agree with everything he says (since I like John Cena but find rock superior to him in many ways). Anways it reminded me back in the day (when things were supposedly better) where the wrestling on tv was at most 5 minutes long on average, and the part that always pissed me off the most about WWe at that time was how at the very beginning of Raw, there was always a long, long, drawn out promo. Sure it was by guys who could cut a good one, but every week, and they just kept getting longer and longer. And I suddenly remembered why I hated the Rock and why I was initially glad to see him go. Just started getting repetative and less creative and almost childish. And sometime someone else would interrupt the promo and start they're own long, winded promo. I'm not much of "hey sports entertainment bad, wrestling good" type of guy but it even infuriated me to hope someone would bust out a "we want wrestling" chant. Anyways, who do you think sucked up the most time with long, opening promo every week during the attitude era? If I remember correctly, the usual suspects were: Mr. McMahon HHH Steve Austin The Rock Foley (not so much but he was a big player at the time) Stephanie/Shane

Regardless of what everyone else though, I hated "This is your life Rock" and thought it was a horrible waste of time.
I'm also not a big fan of the wedding ceremonies. Especially Billy/Chuck and Edge/Lita.

Although I liked it it took up a lot of time from what I remember was when DX waited for Owen Hart & played cards at ringside, they took the crowd off the match then beat up the Headbangers(which weren't a bad thing), but it seemed to go on for a while, well until Owen hit HBK & jumped the barrier.

RAW used to be absolutely terrible, wrestling-wise at least, in that time period. Short matches and a loooooooong McMahon promo every week.

I actually have been sick of all the "general managers" and other such "boss" segments on both shows for years now. When it was just Mr. McMahon playing his villainy up, it was tolerable. But ever since the "McMahon/Helmsley Era" days, we have had valuable time on every show and pay pver view taken up by promo's that show the bosses of each show doing the same exact thing each week.
I think its time to eliminate all these villainous bosses and just plain let the heels be the heels. Don't have them be beholden unto someone else for their heelishness, just let them play it themselves.

I hate contract signings. They're all the same.

RAW used to be absolutely terrible, wrestling-wise at least, in that time period. Short matches and a loooooooong McMahon promo every week. The matches might have been short, but we were treated to 6 or 7 matches per RAW/Smackdown. That means more TV time to those that truly deserved it at the time. I remember those matches being a lot more entertaining than the ones right now.

Because the wrestlers went balls out in those 6 or 7 matches, and many of the "top guys" weren't as broken down as they are today. Unfortunatly, it's impossible to go balls out now since the advent of the safe style, but hey, you have to find ways to work around it.

Anybody who disliked/dislikes The Rock, disgusts me. Why? I was never a huge Rock fan, and I know many people who aren't "smarks" that weren't huge Rock fans as well. They were just never entertained by him. So because some people aren't entertained by a person they disgust you? Wow, what a narrow minded point of view.

You're saying that, here, in the WWE forum of the WrestleCrap boards, people respect each other's opinions? HAW.

I think that sometimes the segments can be really good. The weddings can be annoying, but some are good. I LOVED the Billy & Chuck wedding, because I never seen a lot of it coming. I loved it when The Godfather came out(anytime the Godfather comes out it's great, he is definitely one of the best characters to ever come from the attitude era) and it was so great when Eric Bischoff pulled off the mask, and then 3 Minute Warning come out and beat up Stephanie McMahon, holy crap, I never saw that coming. I hate storyline spoilers a lot, because I always want to be suprised, and that surprised me so much, I loved it.
The Rock was always gold on the mic. And he was also gold in the ring. It was worth it to hear the Rock on the mic everytime.
