From ProWresting.netJeff Hardy is giving the impression to friends that he will re-sign with WWE before his contract expires this summer. He's said to be burned out with the schedule and additional time off will likely be something he requests in contract negotiations.
In related news, Hardy has had talks with MTV regarding a reality television project. It's said to be tied to "The Hardy Show" that he and his brother produce together online. The MTV talks are simply at the discussion level, but Jeff is said to be very excited about the idea of having his a reality show on the network.
Powell's POV: The feeling of Hardy's peers is that it would be a wise business decision to re-sign with the company now that he's been slotted as the No. 2 babyface on the Smackdown brand behind only Undertaker, who doesn't work a full-time schedule. Hardy is also making more merchandise money as a singles act, as he and Matt Hardy split the Hardy Boys merchandise money for years. Of course, Jeff marches to the beat of his own drum and might not be as concerned about money as others in his position would be, but it's encouraging that he's giving friends the impression that he's open to re-signing. I wouldn't have pegged him as the type of guy who plays contract hardball, but if he held out in order to get them to offer him more time off then kudos to him. The Hardy Show would be a better fit for CMT.

I like this idea. As long as he can work something out, re-signing and then having some time off is the perfect option.

Damn. I was really hoping to be rid of him soon. It's nothing personal against Jeff himself, but damn do I find his on-air persona annoying as hell.

If I was WWE and Hardy, I would let it lapse for all of an hour erasing his two strikes before signing the new one.

As long as it's his call to stay around and he wants to seriously, I'm glad to have him back. I've been huge on the guy since 07 when he picked his game up.

I don't know. As far as I know, no one has been in this position before. Chris Masters would be the closest and he is not coming back it seems. I guess it would be up to WWE and what kind of publicity it drew. EDIT: Regal is in the same spot but, I don't know about his contract or anything.

"The Hardy Show" ?
Two of the least charismatic guys on the roster getting a reality TV show?! Even if it's on the internet then Jesus...surely MTV must have seen some of their promos?

Hardy's probably trying to get a lighter schedule, which I imagine he'll get.

I think after you pay your dues for a few years you should be granted a pretty decent amount of time off every year. I know the shows are continuous, but as the wrestlers get older and start families Im sure they'd rather be with their family than live out of a suitcase. a couple months of a year (even if its not continous) sounds like it should bve automatic. I hope this enters Hardy's contract and becomes precident.

Yeah what a part timer he is. The guy been on 90% of the Smackdowns since SummerSlam last year. From what I see does a lot of the houseshows as well. Sounds stupid to call Taker part time when he wrestling just as much as the next guy.
