Did anyone else really love when he was commentating with JR around the invasion angle time?
He was a great heel commentator, and had great chemistry with JR when they were just ripping chunks out of eachother every broadcast, or is it only me that thinks this.
Regards

It took me a long time to warm up to his commentary, but I miss it now.

Paul Heyman was my favorite color commentator ever. He and J.R. were my favorite commentating team. Hell another reason why Wrestlemania 17 was perfect because the commentating. Paul Heyman and J.R. gave the event such a perfect atmosphere feeling.

I liked it. I was a shame when Lawler walked out at the time, but he picked up the role well.
Speaking of Lawler, I haven't found him interesting in a long time. Now he just seems to pander after the faces. Lawler of New Generation and beyond was sharp like a razor.

Man, I miss Heyman. I was watching Vengeance 2002 and he was gold at ringisde during the Brock v RVD match.

Heyman just gave off a bit of really true enthusiasm when he was talking about the product.
You could tell he loved wrestling when he was calling matches, and he was just a genuinely funny guy with a bit of a twisted mind. He wasn't trained or molded to do what he did. He was a wrestling guy who loved wrestling.
I would've loved to hear ECW Joey Styles and Heyman as the color team on Raw.

Paul Heyman is the man, but I could not stand him with JR. It may have been because I did not think that any team should have been on Raw other than JR/ King, or it could have been because every time Rhyno made an appearance, Paul E. would not shut up about him being the last ECW champ.
I enjoyed his commentary work in WCW, though.

Heyman and JR were perfect, they kinda reminded me of McMahon/Ventura.Instead of just kinda teasing them, both Ventura and Heyman tried to discredit the opinions of their counterparts.

It took me a while to like him in the booth but yeah he was great. I always loved him impersonating JR and talking about Stone Cold.

By some distance my favourite colour commentator. He put everyone, EVERYONE over, and didn't even make it seem like he was reluctant in doing so. He made good points from a heel perspective.

He was the last great heel commentator from a short line (Ventura, Heenan, 90s-Lawler...) I'd say the only one close to him now is Matt Striker, but he's too goofy to be there yet. Striker- Watch the 2001 commentating of Heyman, and take notes!

Heyman was entertaining as commentator, I agree there. I do wish they would allow heel commentators anymore in the E. Stryker seemed like he was gonna be, but he just comes across goofy and a bit smarky for lack of a better word.

Someone complained about how he put Rhyno over as the last ECW champion constantly. That's what you're supposed to do. Put everyone over as a threat, push their past successes!

Loved Heyman and JR, especially at X-7. He made the TLC match seem like these guys could literally die doing what they were doing. Which, I guess they could, but...you know what I mean.

I remember reading somewhere that JR genuinely didn't like Heyman and Heyman would say and do things on commentary to piss him off, which lent itself better to their pro WWF/ pro Alliance split.
But yes, Heyman is, was, and will always be, gold on the mic. As a matter of fact I try to channel him a bit whenever I have to give speeches in public, or rally up a group of people for a cause.

His entire run as a color commentator on Raw was just perfect. QFT. And off topic, charlesmc206 your avatar is great. I was there when Stan Hansen "broke" Rick Martel for the AWA title.
