Yeah... I live in PA, so although it's fairly common across the country, it's a little weird to finally see it in person and not just in movies/TV. (I've only ever been out of state to Jersey and never to a grocery).
It's also a bit pointless, at least here. You have to apparently exit a seperate door and be rung up at a customer service type desk (i.e. not designed for getting any real amount of groceries). Oh, and their beer selection stinks and it didn't look like they carried anything past 12 packs, so I'm not sure how there's any real benefit over the beer distributors.
But I guess it's the thought that counts. It's one step closer to less ridiculous liquor laws here. (You still have to buy hard liquor at state run liquor stores... i.e. one in every major town where the state sees fit to put one)
Oh, and we still have a stupid 18% tax they put on alcohol for the Johnstown Flood. ...A law that was put into effect for a flood that happened in 1936.

Same situation here. Package liquor has to be sold in a separate room from regular groceries and the like. Been seeing separate rooms constructed in gas stations and what not lately. Not sure how it works with dispensing rooms, but I do know that in liquor stores as well as serving rooms, you have to be 21 to enter here in Wyoming.
I'm okay with it, though, and always have been. Regardless of your feelings on keeping the legal drinking age at 21 years or older, there's no reason to have people under the legal consumption age with access to it. If the law changes, it's easy enough to allow other people in, but as it stands now, it's far easier to enforce 21 and up when it's flat out illegal for them to be there. People complain that it's inconvenient, but really, I don't think that making an extra 3-5 minute stop for your beer is that huge of a deal, particularly compared to allowing the private businesses another tool to remain in compliance with the law.
Keep in mind, we still have drive-up liquor stores here in Wyoming, which is quickly becoming a thing of the past elsewhere.

Dude, you have to go to a Wegmans, they have more varied selection and you can shop with your stuff. They're slowly spreading in the state, which is real cool...I know they're also in a few Sheetz, as well as Weis Markets.

well lets see in this small town of illinois im in...beer is completely prohibited from being sold in gas stations or grocery stores even walmart...there is about the exact same amount of liquor stores here as their are churches...and theres a store about 3 feet outside of city limits that sales on sunday...and a town about 4 miles over sells in their gas stations and grocery stores...its so surreal
also just wanted to throw in that the brilliant people that sale beer on sunday in that store ingeniously named the store the "Oasis"
to me its irony at its best

Huh, I am so used to the beer barn and Walmart (and well most other stores in the area) selling that I forgot that a lot of people don't have the access I do to booze. Then again, I don't drink so it doesn't really matter.

I live in Allentown during the summers because of family and some stores started doing it last summer I believe..

Here you can buy alcohol in the liquor stores and that's it. Beer included. No alcoholic beverages of any kind in grocery stores, gas stations, Walmarts, or anywhere else. No seperate rooms or entrances and exits in those establishments either. Liquor stores only. Monday through Saturday until 8PM only. No Sundays.

In NJ, you used to only be able to buy booze at liquor stores, but that's starting to change. Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and I think Wegman's all sell alcohol, and I'm starting to see it trickle into newer, larger supermarkets, like this A&P up north.

I was shocked when I went out of state and saw beer just sitting there in a regular grocery store. We just don't have that here in PA. I would have bought some, but I'm straight edge and better than you.

I live in a dry county. If you want alcohol you're driving two towns over to get it.

You can only buy beer at the liquor stores or the Beer Store (yes, that's the actual name of the store) here in Ontario. Non-alcoholic beer can be sold in grocery stores, but...
I know Quebec sells beer in convenience stores, I'm not sure about grocery stores.

Beer is sold in grocery stores, convienence stores, etc. until 3am here. No liquor on Sundays, sold M-S until 11pm.
You think they're going to deny rednecks beer for more than 4-6 hours a day? I think not.

Wow I didn't realise licensing laws were still so strict over there, alcohol is in every supermarket and many newsagents/convenience stores over here, to the point dedicated liquor stores are struggling.

I'm glad that we don't have such archaic laws in VT and I hope that PA and other places catch up sometime soon.
