Haven't watched any series in awhile (except for Bleach on Adult Swim and Gundam 00 Season 2 on Sci--I mean Syfy >_>). Last thing I watched subbed was the Tales of the Abyss anime, which was really freakin' good. But then I'm a big TotA fan, so my opinion is biased.

I like a lot of it. Obviously not everything, but I'm pretty enthusiastic about it as a whole.
Dragon Ball Z is and probably always will be my favourite. It's what got me into it, I can't help it. It's just so damn fun.
Currently I'm watching Tenchi Muyo! OVA 3. I wonder if it'll ever get dubbed. Oh well, the subs are fine for now. It's hilarious.

Some is all right. Some ends up being the worst type of fanservice possible(looking at you Eiken). Most falls inbetween the two somewhere

There are alot of them I just cannot stand, but some I enjoy very much.
I don't like the sci-fi ones very much...despite the fact I think Akira might be one of the greatest (if not THE SINGLE GREATEST) animated movies ever made. Many of them are just WAAAAY too slow paced for me. Hell, Cowboy Bebop put me to sleep several times cause they wouldn't just get on with it...the voice acting didn't help either...yeah I know they're all dubbing icons but they just seemed so...monotonous.
Fooly Cooly/Furi Kuri/FLCL/whatever the hell the official name is this minute was amazing, though I've kindof become worn out of it...it's one of those ones that kindof lost it's luster when EVERYONE started thinking it was amazing when you were already done with it.
To be honest in the Toonami days the only one I LIKED was DBZ...Tenchi, Ruroni Kenshin, Gundam (whatever), Sailor Moon...didn't care for any of them. Yu Yu Hakusho I liked but I mostly consider that an Adult Swim anime.
After that it's just kindof here and there. Naruto WAS good though I'm not too impressed with the vast majority of Shippuden (makes you wonder if the time skip was all that necessary), Bleach is highly skippable, Death Note and Full Metal Alchemist I never got into, Samurai Champloo was okay before the Japan hip-hop novelty wore out, then it was just...meh...
I will say though...upon first glance I never thought I would get into "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya"...oh how dead wrong I was. Once I found out it really is from a guy's perspective (therefore meaning it's not so Sailor Moon-ish) I really enjoyed it...and on that note, Lucky*Star I am not fond of either.
That's all I can think of. Pretty much if I haven't been referred to it or seen it on Toonami or Adult Swim I have no opinion on it.

It's like movies, cartoons and live action shows. Watching anime simply because it's anime makes no sense. Like any other form of entertaiment, is best to only watch what you find interesting.

This I agree with. Though I said a don't like most anime, here's a list of Anime that I DO like/liked: DBZ Tenchi Yu Gi Oh!(original) Pokemon(before it got boring) Digimon Sailor Moon(Don't laugh I was really young at the time) Personally, I prefer western animated stuff but there is some anime that I like.

Anime is one of those things that for reasons I can't explain I just can't get into it. I've seen a good size chunk but for the most part I was bored. The only anime I really enjoyed was Ninja Scroll but that's about it. It just doesn't click, for whatever reason.

There's a lot about most typical animes that get brought over here that I don't like. I really dislike the excessive exposition, the overly descriptive dialogue (let US figure some of it out, writers!), etc. Even in original Japanese versions of many shows, there's some obnoxious trends, i.e. any remotely young female character sounding like a 4 year old, etc.
That's obviously not every anime, but, again, I'm referring to many of the mainstream ones that get brought over here.
However, due to all of that, that's a big part of why I found Cowboy Bebop so amazing, and why it remains one of my all time favorite shows, anime or otherwise. It went against so many of those cliches. Love it.
I enjoyed DBZ when I was a kid, but grew out of it (too repetitive), but I did grow into enjoying Trigun, which was just a flat-out fun show with a few genuinely emotional and creative moments.
Miyazaki movies rule, as well, but they almost count as their own little world.
FLCL kicked major ass, and I also have to give props to Lupin III.

Right now! I am enjoying One piece, Detective conan and the non-dubbed Yugioh. Surprised how 4Kids turned Kaiba into a total arrogant jerk who doesn't care about anything while in the manga and anime, he is actually a believer and he does show some compassion especially when he fought Amelda.
