Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying Blazblue looks like a bad game but something about it just doesn't seem to resonate with me the same way guilty gear did.
I don't know, it just feels like this game doesn't have a soul or something.
Well atleast it has non-canonical skits where the words "Boobie Lady" are said... that kind of makes up for it I suppose.

Nope, total opposite, absolutely love it. Bang Install is the s***. Bah, Arakune for the win! As well as Litchi and Noel. And V-13, and Jin, and Taokaka, and Rachel....ok, damn it, most of the characters kick ass! I say most, cause I suck with Iron Tager and Carl Clover. Haven't tried Hakumen yet, but seriously, Arakune, V-13, Jin, and Rachel are the most broken. Arakune for his curse bugs, V-13 for her energy swords/sword wings, Jin for his Drive Attack, and Rachel for....well everything. Fill a stage with her lighting rods and then do her Special, and well good times. Taokaka is just a fun little character, definitely one of the few with a good Weak Attack, thanks to the decent reach of it and how easy it is to juggle someone with it. Plus she's the one that calls Litchi "Boobie Lady." It is just too awesome of a game. Best fighting game on the 360 and PS3. And I'm not kidding. For one, it is the most fun of them all, namely because of how it is "easy to learn, hard to master." The 4 attack button scheme is just a great idea. I mean hell, my little sister is able to hold her own against me, and as a result, have fun. On the other hand, she REFUSES to play Street Fighter IV, Virtua Fighter 5, and Soul Calibur IV with me, because the games are too complex for her. Oh, and can't forget BlazBlue isn't as frustratingly cheap as SF4(*cough*Seth*cough*), SC4(*cough*Yoda*cough*), or VF5(*cough*EVERYONE*cough*). So yeah....I'm a total fan of it, big whoop, want to fight about it? The funny thing is, this little unknown title is getting better review scores than any other fighting game on the 360/PS3 besides Street Fighter IV and Virtua Fighter 5(VF5 on 360 is beating the 360 version of BlazBlue, but the PS3 versions are flipped)! Hell, it has blown away the review scores for any of the Guilty Gear games, so .

I'm not saying it's a bad game, I'm just saying that most of the characters (except taokaka and arakune since he's pretty much a shadow from persona) don't really interest me.
That and the music doesn't seem as good as guilty gear (to me atleast) and the weird sci-fi doesn't hook me as the weird metal fantasy in guilty gear.

I haven't played it yet myself and I loved Guilty Gear X2 (that had just came out when I got my PS2, so I rented it when I could (our Blockbuster is fairly popular and their was only ONE copy in the whole place) and eventually bought it when Blockbuster put the copy up for sale.
I dunno, BlazBlue just seems too similar at first glance. I hope the local Movie Gallery has it, it seems they only carry the REAL popular stuff. I can make a LONG list of games I have wanted to buy over the last couple of years but been afraid to because I can't rent them from Movie Gallery to try out first.

Yeah, the characters themselves are kind of bleh. I mean they just hit "Recycle" on their Guilty Gear characters. Ragna the Bloodedge is CLEARLY a modified Sol Badguy, for example. The music, on the other hand, well you have to get use to it. The Guilty Gear games focused more on awesome rock music, but BlazBlue is more opera-like or sci-fi-like.

I can go further Iron Tager is clearly a Potemkin rip off, Jin is a Ky rip off, Lichi is a Baiken rip off and Noel is a (arguably) Milia Rage rip off.

Litchi is more of a combo of Jam, I-No, and Baiken. Noel is a combo of Bridget and Milia.
