The first was okay, second was laughable, third was just bad, but I suppose since I like lame horror movies I'll rent this too.

I'll see it, and will probably enjoy it as a zombie film, but HATE it as a Resident Evil film. Just like the two other two sequels. I liked the first one, even as a RE film, because it had the FEEL of Resident Evil. Lost in a laboratory swarming with zombies and only with pistols and a few bullets between life and death.

There are two possibilities for how this film can go. It'll either be a rip off of Resident Evil: Code Veronica by focusing mainly on the group that went to Alaska, or it'll focus mainly on Alice going to Tokyo.
I'm hoping for a little of both. On the plus side, the films are finally returning back to "original Resident Evil stories" and not just ripping off the games. I mean there isn't many more games they can rip off, thanks to Umbrella not being shut down and zombies taking over the world, Resident Evil 4 and 5 can't be f***ed with.
Also, I know I usually hate seeing RE characters being bastardized in the films, but they need to put Chris Redfield into the films. It is weird seeing Claire and Chris isn't around at all.

Jill is still alive, so it is possible. In the novel for the 3rd film, she goes to Baltimore and helps make it into another safe haven for humans, much like the town in Alaska that Claire and the others are heading towards.

The last movie was the cause of one of my favorite movie outbursts "I WANT A ROOM FULL OF NAKES MILA JOVAVICHES!"

The films make a lot of money. Why stop doing what makes you rich? Did they? My god, Taste has really gone downhill in the movie going public The first RE's budget was $33 million, it made $40 million in the US. The second one's budget was $45 million, it made $51 million in the US. The third one's budget was $45 million, it made $$50 million in the US. All 3 made over $100 million worldwide.

The first movie was barely watchable, and because of that I haven't seen the sequels...though I liked the trailers for the third one.
I honestly doubt I'll ever watch another RE movie

I'll check it out. I liked the first one decent enough, hated Apocalypse, and call me crazy, but Extinction kind of redeemed some of the foul-ups that Apocalypse made, imo, so I was okay with it. In any event, sometimes you just need a mindless popcorn flick, and if it's a mindless popcorn flick based off a video game series that I mark out for, then more power to it.
