It's the way you look at it.
In the MITB match you have to defeat 7 other men who are also in a position to become world champion. That enough makes the contract for a world title match justified.
But what DOES devalue it is the rule that says "any time any where" which throws the "fair and square" thing out the window because the champion can't rightfully defend his title if he isn't scheduled to have the match.

I think it makes the titles more important and makes the champion always have to be ready to defend the title again regardless.

I think it makes the titles more important and makes the champion always have to be ready to defend the title again regardless. But again, the "any time anywhere" rule lets Mr. MITB win unfairly sometimes.
