I don't think that Animal will be back for the long term. It's part of the huge nostalgia kick that Hogan and pals have started over on Raw. It's cool though, I liked the Road Warriors. I just think that he and Heidenreich will drop the titles relatively soon.

I'm not really enjoying it seeing as Animal trashed Hawk on the DVD since he's easy to blame cause he's dead...

I'd rather keep my memories of the Road Warriors intact.

I think that nostalgia is blinding a lot of people to the fact that the match tonight SUCKED. Animal is out of shape and has no place wrestling anymore let alone being a champion. He blew three spots in his match, and proved the old adage that Hawk was only real talent in the tag team. The Road Warriors in their time were a hell of a tag team (once again, due mostly to Hawk), but to bring Animal back to reform this new version (even if they aren't refering to them as such) only serves to bastardize their memory. In my opinion of course. Feel free to disagree. ;D

Its good to see Road Warrior Animal again get one last run. I would have picked a better partner than Heidenrich, but you can't have it all i suppose. I've seen the DVD and he doesn't trash Hawk at all. He just tells us what happened, how nothing is perfect and that even through the ups and downs they were still there for each other. No one is perfect, im sure none of us are perfect.
I mean, hogan is back and he's not nearly as "nimble" as he once was, but we still pop for him, same here goes for Animal.

Had it not been for the dedication of the match to Hawk, I would have been pissed that they took the belts off of MNM. You also have to keep in mind that the DVD will probably sell a few more copies to the "newer" WWE fans who had no memory of Hawk & Animal.
In all honesty, MNM will probably win them back from Animal & Heidy with their rematch clause on Smackdown this Tuesday (Thursday, whatever.)

I'm thrilled that Animal's back and that he won the WWE Tag Team Championship. It won't last long but it's a nice last hurrah for him.

Good short run for animal but its weird not having Hawk around as he was always more of the voice of the group. He always seemed to blend well with animal in the ring too and im not sure Heidenreich can do that.

I'm ALL for bringing in my man Johnny to the LOD. Road Warrior "Heidenrape" doesn't have a nice ring to it though...

I thought LOD 2000 was a pretty bad decision. So for me there isn't much that could trash their legacy.

whats the conscensus on the return of animal? i respect what he's done but i don't think he has any business being in the ring these days. christ, i remember everyone bitching about him when they brought him back years and years ago in WCW. he looked pretty slow and sloppy to me lastnight. i expected MNM to get their gold back fairly soon.

I almost choked on my dinner last night when they won the tag belts from MNM, which wasn't the outcome I wanted. I know the tag team division is lacking solid contenders right now, but this seemed pretty hopeless if MNM win them back in the next week. All of this just to sell some goddamn DVDS!!!

In my view, putting the Tag-Team straps on Heidenriech and an out-of-shape Animal does nothing else but show just how little these belts mean. It also puts a black eye on the legacy of one of the greatest tag-teams ever to grace the ring (not to mention of one of my all-time favorite tag-teams of all time).

I'd prefer they did something with the Demolition gimmick than drag the LOD out of the closet. Animal didnt work well in WCW and he's worse now in WWE. Besides I marked out more for Demolition when I was younger than I ever did LOD. Mainly because Hawk never wanted to sell anything. (I recall the no sell for the RVD/Kane tag match ending and no selling a piledriver from Kane when Kane was just entering WWF.)
