I just...I never could see Hunter in this role. Maybe as the video game mo-cap person, yeah. But speaking the lines of dialogue...and getting into this mythological God-like character...I don't see it.
And this is coming from the guy who thinks Brock Lesnar would have made an awesome Eddie Brock, and John Cena wouldn't be half bad in the PREDATOR reboot. It's all about the capacity you use these guys in, and the role they're playing. Brock could have pulled off the dickhead sports reporter that Eddie Brock was in the comics...and I'm pretty sure Cena could play a commando who grunts every other word if he were cast as such...heck Cena could pull off playing a Terminator too, I think.
HHH, in a movie directed by Kenneth Brannagh? I don't think that would fit at all. If anything, they might have to get Gerard Butler to dye his hair blonde, or Daniel Craig if he's interested.

there is a difference in crowd reaction in wrestling and public opinion. The Rock was a somebody, everyone knew and adored him. He was badas and that translated into a movie career. If HHH was any bit of the excretory matter youre claiming him to be Blade Trinity would have had a better run because according to you the general public wants HHH in movies. And no youre wrong the general demographic of people who are going to see a Thor movie are Thor and comic book fans most of which dont watch pro wrestling. And finally Johnny Bravao was canceled years ago what? comic books and wrestling have a huge crossover fanbase, its one of the reasons im embarassed to be a wrestling fan and also youre not making a lot of sense there, you make a point of noting that overness on a wrestling show and public opinion are two very different things, which i agree with, and then you go on to say that the rock was known and adored by everyone, he certainly was more generally known than hhh but he was hardly a household name like a hogan, and rock was a badass that translated into a movie career? what? id say trips is portrayed as much more of a badass than rock was, rock was a comedian who bumped around like shawn michaels and curt hennigs lovechild and was leaner and more of a charmer, hardly a big badass with that said, at this point in time pop culture thinks of wrestling as a joke so trips being the feature of a movie would certainly bring it down a notch, as would any wrestler

anyone who thinks HHH would have been a good Thor knows nothing about Thor. besides it says reportedly so it's not 100% confirmed. This is like the 5th person who reportedly got the part. He's a tall blonde who uses a hammer, that seems like Triple H to me Wasn't Thor ginger?

The 'actual' Thor, yes. The Thor that's portrayed in Marvel's comics, though, has always been blonde.

Trips never had the charisma to play the role good. I DO think Jericho would make a terrific Loki.

He certainly has the ability to channel resentment and jealousy over someone else's accomplishments in an epic way. What has Jericho acted in, though? Thought there was a sci-fi movie he did or something...

I thought that Jarko in Blade was going to be like a background character, but the guys liked Triple H so much that they gave him more to do. So he can act, I guess. I also agree about the difference with Rock blowing up when wrestling was on top of the world and Triple H now. Especially after the Benoit stuff. That's like wrestling's 9/11. Not to sound offensive or anything, I hope you understand my analogy. Rock was on SNL, That 70s Show, Star Trek, and his role was really small in The Mummy, Rock's star power and charisma led the way for the Scorpion King spinoff. Triple H showed up with Rock on SNL and did The Drew Carey show (*shivers* Ugh, spiders...!)<---Still laugh about that. He wasn't out there as much, and fans who left when Rock and Austin did, won't really feel a need to see Triple H doing his thing, even though he was part of that awesome time. All that being said, I wouldn't want to see Triple H get the part just because he looks like Thor. Give it to a real fan who can act like Downey Jr. and Iron Man. I don't know anything about Thor, but I am a comic book geek, so I will always check out stuff like this. The only things I knew about Iron Man was his name, he was rich, he had a heart problem, and he's a drunk. But the movie got me into it, and now I try to go back as far as I can with Stark. So make a movie that all fans and at least special effects junkies will want to see.

Very glad to see that HHH got passed over for this. "I AM THOR-UH! I SAY THEE NAY-UH!!!" is not something I wanted to see from one of my comic favorites on the bigscreen. Amen. I wouldn't want to see Triple H play the lead role in a movie any more than I'd want Mickey Rourke to headline WrestleMania.

C'mon, wouldn't you pay big bucks to see Thor tell Loki "THAT'S IT-UH!! YOU'LL NEVER GET OVER IN THIS BUSINESS AGAIN-UH!!". I'd mark.

If he doesn't get the part, they should do a skit where he goes through the Marvel Comics office with a sledgehammer and start smashing things...

I hate that just because Triple H looks like people imagine Thor would look like means he should play the part in a major motion picture.
After The Dark Knight and Iron Man, I think studios are leaning towards casting serious actors in major comic book movie roles.

Triple H would definitely look the most badass as Thor, but c'mon, the guy wouldn't be able to act the part for squat, especially if they decided to do the movie in Asgardian dialect...which always made me hate Thor comics. I've always loved the character, but his comics were always lame. It's funny how his book is hands down the best Marvel publishes at the moment though. I just wish it would ship on time. Another thing going against Triple H is that he wouldn't be able to use whoever is playing Donald Blake as a crutch to carry the actual acting of the movie since the current plan for the movie, the last I heard, was to set it completely in the Asgardian realms. There's no one who could touch Triple H on the physical aspect of the part, the dude takes bumps for a living and has the sheer mass and size that playing Thor demands, but Triple H saying just about anything in a winged helmet and cape is almost cringe-worthy. I could see me sinking into my movie chair now the my face in my palm. Anyway, I'm psyched for this movie and hope they do as good of a job with this and Captain America as they did with Iron Man. Make mine Marvel or verily, I will smite. Oh, and when they decide to redo the Craptastic Four movies, they should definitely do an Atlantis storyline and cast The Rock as Namor. Now THAT would be the most well-cast comic character ever. Eat it, Ryan Reynolds.

Ditto for Rourke as Marv in SIN CITY. As for the FF redo...I have only one request, and I have made it known, many times: get rid of Alba and bring in Naomi Watts. PLEASE!

Triple H was a henchman, he got a couple of lines and that was all. He did have 2 fight scenes, but he really didn't show much because of who he was casted as. It's like Dave Chapelle in Con Air Also little tid-bit, HHH was a comic book geek. He was into animation and graphic art. Yeah he went to Art school. This is from his book.

I'd rather have a good actor play the role over a Wrestler.

I was actually hoping Alexander Skaargard would get the role. He had the look, the acting chops (his dad is actor Stellan Skaargard) and the actual Scandanavian lineage to boot.
