Or, random DCAU show appreciation thread #......I lost count. 7?
This thread covers the original show, as well.
This show was just as amazing as the rest of Bruce Timm's work, without a doubt. It gave a new Green Lantern exposure, it also gave Wally West (The Flash) more well-deserved focus, (Even though it vanished once the show became JLU.) and it introduced a wide audience (myself included) to the Martian Manhunter. I'll admit, I was wondering why they used Hawkgirl for ages (besides getting another girl on the team) until the series ended and the invasion happened, which was awesome.
This series also holds a distinction for me, as it's the only television show that's ever brought me to tears. If you haven't seen the episode "The Terror Beyond", go watch it RIGHT NOW. It takes some damn good work to make a sympathetic character out of SOLOMON GRUNDY, but they pull it off, and it is incredible.
When the show changed to Unlimited.........well, it stayed good, but it just wasn't the same. It was supposed to be a cast of "hundreds" of heroes; it ended up as basically just some of the Original 6 (7 when Hawkgirl came back), either Green Arrow or Supergirl, and the Hero of The Week. But nonetheless, the Hero of The Week was usually pretty good: Aquaman, The Atom, The Question, Captain Atom, Zatanna, and many more I didn't list. (Because I'm just not a fan of them. I know Booster Gold's entire appeal is that he sucks, but I'm just not a fan. And don't even start me on *ugh* Vixen.)
Plus, the in-jokes here hysterical. Like, the Ultimen being pastiches of the Affirmative Action Super Friends (And the Wonder Twins, but whatever). And the episode where The Joker tried to blow up Vegas and he had The Royal Flush Gang? They were voiced by the Teen Titans! The crew worked their asses off so even the little things were awesome.
This show was amazing, and certainly deserves an appreciation thread. So get to appreciating!

Actually, this is where the DC Animation threads began months ago, it's become full circle. In any case, this is how you do superhero animation. It appealed to all ages, it rewarded fanboys while entertaining the uninitated, it gave wide exposure to all sort of minor heroes (The Question, anyone?) it presented a sensible continuity, and it sold lots of action figures. The series has been off the air since 2006, look in any Target. Not only will you see the Trinity, you'll see the Seven Soldiers, you'll the JLE, the JLI, New Gods, the Justice Lords the JLD, Nemesis! The action figure line is still selling strong, at least it is in Target. Granted, the arms need to move, but selling figures is a good sign.
WB's Bat Embargo policy was horrible, the Birds of Prey, or Aquaman, or anyone else would have gotten better exposure to the target audiance than any third rate WB failed pliot.

I really like that one where Superman is transported 30k years into the future and everyone thinks he's dead, meanwhile he has no powers and has an adventure with Vandal Savage.
I also like Unlimited a lot tho myself, the one with Zatanna where Wonder Women is turned into a pig is great, or that episode with the Flash museum fun stuff.

Anything with the Question or Green Arrow was usually fried gold. Yes. A thousand times yes. Plus, the little not-so subtle relationship between Wonder Woman and Batman.

Pretty good show, although I thought it suffered from some of the character restrictions. For some reason they were banned from using Ted Kord, so the Booster Gold episodes took an instant hit. Booster Gold and Blue Beetle would have been epic.

love the show, seen every episode multiple times. favorite eps are the one with Booster Gold (I'd never heard of him before, and now I;m a huge fan) and any of the hilarious interactions between Huntress and Question. totally geeked out over the episode where the Rogues try to kill the Flash, the scene with the Flash and The Trickster (MARK HAMILL!!!) was money. also love the ep. where the Flash and Luthor trade minds.
Dr. Polaris: aren't you going to wash your hands? Luthor (Flash): NO..... Because I`m Evil!
*****
Flash (Luthor): well, at least I can discover the Flash`s secret identity *lifts off cowl, looks perplexed* Flash (Luthor): I have no idea who this is.

I loved the Luthor/Flash episode. The only thing about this show is that I wish it would have not been left open ended. I would have liked to see what the deal was with Brainiac being in Luthor's head...I would have liked to see what exactly happened to Luthor and Darkseid...I kinda wanted more closure on Hamilton, ect. However, the show making me care this much about its storylines just goes to prove how really awesome it was!

Love the show, but hate John Stewart. He is probably the most boring of all the Green Lanterns, and his reasoning for being on the showed cheapend the character. I would have loved Guy Gardner on the team, instead. Imagine the awesomeness that would have been the weekly fights between him and Batman.

One of the best cartoons ever made. My favorite episodes include:
- Flash, Batman and Orion fight Flash's Rogues at the Flash Museum - Captain Marvel battles Superman (Clash) - Booster Gold's "Greatest Story Never Told" - Mister Miracle and Big Barda recruit Flash to save Oberon from Granny Goodness
Just an amazing show. If they did one last season with the characters they were allowed to use now, it would blow everything else away. A Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) and Booster Gold episode would be the highest rated cartoon ever.

Oh come on guys no love for the Cadmus arc. A strong, well written story arc in a cartoon that really just gives you goose bumps to see how it ends. I mean you think you know who the villain is but then the rug is pulled out from under you.
