That made me happy. I've been telling everyone not to underestimate this movie. I can't wait to see it.

I have to admit, the Baroness on the commercials, acting like a total badass is starting to make me want to watch the movie. The dialogue to the movie makes Transformers look like Gone with the Wind, however

I actually kind of wanted to see this movie before the positive reviews came out. The suits actually don't bug me seeing how the Joes used stuff like that all the time.

Harry Knowles' review a week or 2 back was what I needed to turn around and get enthusiastic about this movie. I've been clamoring for it ever since. And thanks to TRANSFORMERS 2, it seems GI JOE, even if it was lousy (which apparently, it's not), will still be a better film.

I'm looking forward to this
Besides It doesn't have Shia Labouf or Megan Fox, so by default it's already better than Bayformers

I think I want District 9 to beat it. Besides, Harry gaves positive reviews to Godzilla and Land of the Lost, he's not exactly a great judge of quality.

I trust Harry Knowles about as far as I can throw him.

isn't Harry Knowles on the take? I thought I read someplace that he'd give positive reviews to movies that the studio gave him money for.

It would explain the fact that he pans pretty much any FOX release these days (I think he had a major falling out with FOX studio heads). Since the list of influential film critics grows shorter and shorter, Harry becomes more and more powerful, which is disturbing.

isn't Harry Knowles on the take? I thought I read someplace that he'd give positive reviews to movies that the studio gave him money for. if that was true explain how he gave a good review to star trek and then bashed transformers? both were released by paramount. He isn't on the take in the sense that he's being paid for good reviews, but he has been known to give kinder reviews to movies made by people he has personal relations with, or movies in which he was flown out for a set visit. That sort of thing. He's not as relevant as he used to be, so it doesn't come up much any more. But back when AICN was THE movie site (late 90's, early part of the 00's), there was a lot of controvery about Knowles, his business/personal practices, and his ties to the industry. All that said, I've read non-AICN reviews that have also praised this movie, so I'm willing to take it at face value. Pretty good turnaround on a project that had awful word about it a few months ago.
