I didn't think the match was as good as it's being made out to be here.

I just don't understand how you can dislike someone with such a controlled frenzy. I mean, I understand taste but. Um... Fixed that.

Was anyone else hoping Edge would run out at the beginning of the match and throw Kofi into the steel steps, thus taking over his spot in this match?
Or was it just me?

I don't like him because he's just always so happy. It's the same as when The Rock debuted as Rocky Maivia. Give his character some depth and then maybe I'll actually be able to stand watching one of his matches. Otherwise, it's FF>> on the old TiVo for me.

I didn't think the match was as good as it's being made out to be here. It wasn't a five star classic, but it was a solid technical match. It had chain wrestling and some nice reversals into pins. I felt it was a nice change of pace from the main event guys like Cena, Orton, Botchista whose matches consist of punch, kick, 5 main moves and then the finish.

a little too flippidy floppedy for me, but w/e US title means jack excretory matter anyway. Actually, I think they've done a damn good job building the U.S. title as something important since its inception. Sure, there have been a few "unworthy" champions here and there, but it's always either on a guy who is on his way up (Lashley, Kennedy, MVP), can consistently have good matches (MVP, Benoit, Shelton, Finlay), or has already been to the top and is trying to get back to the Big One. (Big Show, Eddie, Benoit, JBL.) Don't let other people's decisions to leave (Lashley), injuries (Kennedy) or other unfortunate incidents (Benoit, Eddie G.) taint the perception of the title as a whole. Right now, I'd say being U.S. champion is better for someone's career than being IC champion. With that having been said: I'm not a huge Kofi fan, but I think he's a very capable worker, charismatic as hell, and the crowd loves the guy, so I'm interested in seeing where this goes. And if it means MVP is on his way up the ladder, then good on him, too. I've been anxiously awaiting this "main event push" he's been "ready for" and I want to see what he can do. I'm not saying he'll flop in the main event, but I'm taking it with a grain of salt. Not ready to fully mark out for the guy as a main eventer just yet, but I'm at about 80%, and that's a damn good start.

i think he deserves a good long title reign after his performance in the MITB match at WM 25. He pulled of new and interesting moves with a ladder smoothly, his in ring work is also solid when compared to others e.g. which ever untalented 'edgehead' is on ecw. Additionally he is also very over with the crowd. Good 3 star match on monday aswell

Well, it's official. I can't stand this guy and they went and gave him the US Championship. What a crock of excretory matter. There is nothing special about him. Why not give the championship to someone more deserving? In a perfect world, Scotty Goldman would be US Champion. But, alas, here we are, stuck with this guy. Woopity doo. Wow. Really? I can't imagine not liking this guy. He's just a blue chipper babyface and I hate guys like that. Plus he's about an inch high.

Thank god, I'm not the only one! Now you see that's what I don't get You hate him because he's happy? No, I can't stand watching him because all he ever does is smile. He has no depth to his character at all. He needs to show some other emotion for a change. If I walked around smiling all day every day, you'd think I was a loon. And he needs to stop doing that stupid boom boom boom thing with his hands. It is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. We are all dumber for having watched him do it.

That's the point, I hate happy characters. I like people who are dicks for the most part.
Kofi reminds me of early Rock. And pretty much everyone HATED early Rock, myself included.

I don't mind that Kofi's character is happy.
I'm personally sick of everyone trying to be either the big angry badass, or the brooding badass, or the smartass badass.
Not everyone has to be an ass.
