Good show, some quick thoughts because I'm tired
1.) Jericho and Rey put on a great show. Could be the best working team in the WWE right now...can these guys get together and put on a bad match?
2.) I hate watching a Big Show match match without J.R. calling it. Micheal Cole and King were basically napping the whole time.
3.) Exciting ending, I'm hoping for the punk heel turn!

I think that it was pretty poorly executed to be honest. Firstly this shock title win has been so overdone by the WWE that it doesn't really shock me anymore. At the very least nothing will ever top seeing Edge cash it in against Cena in 2006 which left me much more happy than a man should be sitting alone at 3 in the morning watching wrestling. I think they need to give it a break. Secondly CM Punk did not act heelish at all so the fans didn't know what to do. They wanted to boo CM Punk but because he was still acting like the babyface they all love they were confused. Usually I love slow subtle heel turns and hopefully that is what we see with CM Punk but I really think on this occasion to get the angle over CM Punk had to be more heelish. Have him hit Hardy with a chair, have him taunt him with the belt, hell don't be subtle at all have him hit him with the chair taunt him and then cut a promo trash talkin the fans. It came off a little flat especially compared to the other times this has happened. Perfectly explained. Yeah. I don't get it either. And I did sort of see it coming, cause ya saw J.R in the ring and thought "...Well, this just doesn't seem right."

I'm still amazed at how well-executed the Y2J/Mysterio match was. That was some slick wrestling.

Does anyone else think that we're seeing the genesis of an Edge face turn?
If Hardy is leaving soon (and after this finish, it certainly seems likely) then Smackdown is without it's top face. So, with Edge now officially splitting from Vickie, and going all out in a really brutal ladder match, I could easily see this turning into a mutual respect, uneasy alliance thing going on between Edge and Jeff, with both pissed off at Punk for robbing the title.
Punk turns into the smug, arrogant ass that we all know he is, while Edge remains the cocky "Rated R Superstar", but the sort of tweener that fans respect for having busted his ass for the last decade. Edge slips into the top face role, Punk becomes the top heel. Plus, down the line, with Edge as a face, they can do Edge/Jericho, which they've obviously been building to for the last few months.

I think it's the wrong time to turn Punk heel. He is very over with the crowd, and is a great role model for kids. WWE would be foolish to turn him heel right now.

I think this could work, and Punk acting like a babyface just will add to it. The announcers were laying the seeds with the "Hardy didn't even get a chance to enjoy it thanks to Punk" commentary.
Punk will come out for a big celebration on Friday to a mixed at best reaction, and he'll claim the crowd turned on him. He'll claim all in the spirit of competition, the crowd won't buy it, he'll pull the Bret Hart/Chris Jericho "you don't respect me? well I don't respect you either" card, and we're off to the races with a red hot Punk-Hardy feud.
IF thats what they are going for, then WELL DONE WWE.

I understand the concern about how the turn went - I think they anticipated this was going to happen though. I almost thought the Punk celebration could be interpreted as mocking the fans.
Hey - we'll tune in on Friday to get the explanation, right? He could go full out heel then.
I'm just happy he scored the win.

Like Kurt did, to a degree

Overall, a good pay per view, better than Judgment Day for sure. Good wrestling, surprise outcomes, and angle advancements, conclusions and beginnings. 7.5/10 for me. The Raw side drug it down a good bit though.

I think it's the wrong time to turn Punk heel. He is very over with the crowd, and is a great role model for kids. WWE would be foolish to turn him heel right now. Straight edge is only a great role model if they acknowledge that his antithesis is a bad role model. So if nobody is a beer-swilling, pot-smoking ass, then sXe means nothing to the thousands in attendance and millions around the world. And I have definitely noticed that he has gotten some mixed reactions recently. He is not as over as he was last year when he had the briefcase the first time. Part of that is being on a new brand and competing for love with Rey and Jeff. But he was definitely seeing a cooling off, lighter reactions, and a smattering of boos. So they might be testing the waters. And hell, the way they put R-Truth against Jericho twice this week makes me think he might be being built to contend for the IC Title, with everyone taking a step up on the face side. And oh yeah...Taker is still on the brand, waiting until to return.

I would agree that just as the show was going off the air CM Punk's celebrations just started to look heelish but then it was over and too short to really mention. For the post who thinks Edge will turn face I definately agree. I think that especially if Hardy is going Smackdown need a top face and it would freshen up Edge a hell of a lot. CM Punk is nowhere near as over as he was. His MITB win was greeted with boos at Wrestlemania and the crowd was dead for his match so I think this is the right time to turn heel.

I'd love to see Edge work with Morrison a little (doubtful though)

The biggest pop after the Jeff/Edge match came from Jeff kicking out of the GTS.
(Which I gotta say was one of the best GTSs i've seen seen performed in the WWE yet)
