I don't mean gimmick wise like Eugene or Undertaker. I mean guys you just look at and can't imagine in the main event or turning into a prominent member of the roster. When I was younger and just watching superstars, and for some reason I started thinking about the future of all these new guys coming in, and I distinctly remember thinking about Hunter Hearst Helmsley and saying to myself, "I just can't see this guy as a main eventer player". I also never expected him to side with Shawn Micheals and turn into a completely hilarious Jackass and in turn, become amusing. And I mean this version not this one: And let's not forget Smilin Rocky Maivia to the (literally) most electrifying an hilarious man in the business: I also never expected, out of the four, for Jeff Hardy to endup the burnout, Matt a sort of internet hero for a couple months (and evolving into the interesting V1 character), Edge main event status (sometimes hot, sometimes very cold among the fans for some reason), and Christian to be the Internet's new Golden Child.

I always thought Christian was a genius but not Edge. I never thought Lita would have anything to do after Essa Rios left. I didnt think that Trish would be a champ when she first started

I never expected Heidenreich to get over, and he hasn't

I never thought Cena would get over. I still don't understand why he did.

To be honest... though I like him, Carlito (as a convincing Heel).
I actually thought that Heidenreich had more of an immediate chance, comparitively speaking.
They just put him up against the exact right guy from the start and gave them both a textbook storyline for creating both a strong face and heel.

I thought Snitsky was a one shot deal. In the infamous match where he hit Kane with the chair and he fell on Lita, I thought Snitsky was just some local worker they brought in to do the deed, so that storyline wise they couldn't say that Kane killed the baby. I would have never in a million years guessed that we would ever see Snitsky again. Then the following week, he gave his infamous promo where he said it wasn't his fault. (Why is everything infamous with Snitsky?)
Now in terms of getting over, I'm obviously not comparing Snitsky to The Rock or HHH. I'm just saying for someone that I was convinced was a one-night deal, he wound up establishing quite a character. And even though a lot of people here don't like Snitsky, the truth is that he is moderately over and he does get heel heat. In other words, people react when he comes out, unlike another guy currently making the rounds. See Conway, Rob.

I never expected Brock Lesnar to get over since he has the charisma of a wooden fence post.
