In 1999, 2000 and 2001 were dominated by Rock v Austin matches PPV after PPV after PPV???

Eventually, yes, I would. If SD is doing the exact same matches in 3 months, I'll be complaining then too.
It's like Eddie/Rey in 2005. There's only so much of a good/great thing I can take in succession.

Not if the matches kept delivering.

Yes, and we did.
Rock, who is now viewed as a diety on the web (for good reason), was getting Cena-level amounts of interhate back then.

There's only so much of a good/great thing I can take in succession. And HHH/Orton wasn't a good/great thing to begin with. It was mediocrity from the start, and it's gone downhill.

If HHH/Orton matches were of the same caliber as Rock/Austin matches, maybe not.
But they aren't. The main event at WrestleMania bored the pants off me and killed the crowd dead. And the WWE's response is "MORE! THEY WANT MORE OF THAT!"
At least it's been moved from the PPV to Raw next week. I can live with that. Though I have the feeling the actual Raw main event for The Bash won't make me any more excited.

Sorry to say, check dot com. It's happening REGARDLESS of what happens Monday. Now they're advertising it as "Who goes in to the Bash as Champion between the two men?"

All right! I get to pay for a match that's gonna be free and I probably won't pay attention to anyway!

If their match at the Bash doesn't get a special stipulation, then I will be confused.
Not only do you give us the big PPV main event for free on TV six days before the PPV. But, the free match will have a special stipulation, while the PPV match does not.

So their solution to this feud being dull and played out is MORE matches in a smaller span of time?

Because of the roster split, it's harder to make different matches. Back then we had Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Triple H, Foley, Angle, and occasionally Jericho and Benoit around 2000 coming into the main event.
Now, look at this year's RAW Elimination Chamer at NWO. Cena, Jericho, and then Kofi, Rey, Knox, and Kane. Until Edge came in, we knew it was going to be Cena or Jericho leaving with the belt. And when Edge came in, most of us knew HE was leaving with the belt.
So, what I'm saying is, RAW has Triple H, Cena, Orton, and I guess Big Show as the main eventers. So they're stuck mixing and matching only these four when they could have 8 to 10 guys in that role. They're trying to push MVP and Kofi, I guess, but they're not ready yet. This is also why SmackDown is kicking RAW's ass. New guys, new matches, new feuds, etc.
I hate for this to be another "End the brand split!" thread, but they need to do something big right now. Their flagship show is sinking.

If HHH/Orton matches were of the same caliber as Rock/Austin matches, maybe not. People were complaining about this Era's Rock vs Austin, and that's Cena vs Edge. People complain when those 2 are put in a match against each other, despite the fact when given time (more than 5 minutes) they always deliver a good match. Triple H and Orton have had good matches in the past, but not on the level of Cena vs Edge and damn sure not on the level of Rock vs Austin.
