I don't know about the Main Event Mafia basically dominating Turning Point. Shades of everything that was wrong about the nWo (not to make the millionth MEM-nWo comparison).
Now, Sting winning makes sense. Hey, he JUST won it.
Booker T winning makes sense, too. Now Christian can be a reluctant member, and it's a good storyline setup.
Nash winning, well, that one just don't make sense. It would have been great to see Joe get that vengeance. Instead, Nash gets a very unnecessary win, and Joe looks weak and a failure against the old guy.
Angle winning doesn't really effect anything, IMO.
But I'm sure there are people who like MEM sweeping the PPV. How do you feel?

Nash/Joe is the only one I think you could make an argument for having the wrong guy win. But they made Joe look very tough in that loss, and Nash had to cheat quite a bit to squeak out even that.
AJ/Sting could have gone either way, but I think it makes more sense for MEM to control the world title for a little while at least.

Joe didnt look weak in that loss at all. He was busted open after being rammed into an exposed turnbuckle 5+ times, and then kicked out of 2 Jackknife Powerbombs. He only lost after a low blow with Nash using the ropes.
But to answer. I like it, and it makes logical booking sense. You have to have the main heel stable look invincible in the beginning, or else the babyface wins later on wont mean nearly as much.

Christian is just going to end up rebelling on them. *yawn*
They really are putting all of their eggs in one basket with this feud.

Who knows what the Christian situation evolves into.
Hell, if his contract actually is up, or coming up really soon as its been reported a few times [nothing remotely concrete though], and he actually is leaving, he could just play the "id rather quit than join you" card.

I like it. Saw it coming too. The stable that is built up as a dream team like MEM, or nWo typically own the first PPV.
I expected them to win all the matches, or atleast not lose any by pinfall or submission. We knew they werent going to take the world title off of Sting just yet, we knew Abyss wouldent beat Angle. I was pretty sure Booker wouldent lose his title, though i was expecting a DQ finish. Kevin Nash pinning Joe was kind of a surprise but it wasent convincing.
I don't care that the Young Lions may of looked weak in this PPV because they are weak compared to the Main Event Mafia. They need to add a Christopher Daniels...or Matt Morgan, or both. I don't buy that their current make up will stand up to the MEM.
I do think MCMG winning the tag titles would have been big for the originals though, i was surprised they didnt win.

It does make sense for the first PPV encounters, but I hope it doesn't follow the Angle/Joe pattern too closely.
Joe did at least look strong, which helps things. It's been said, but you don't always have to go over to look good.
I'm just hoping that in the coming weeks we get someone on the Young Lions side that will cut something more than a "nuh uh, shut up old man" promo. Hell, with Russo involved, let it get personal, make it a little more "real". Throw out politiking, Angle's drug issues (since he hasn't been shy about it in interviews), or, risky though it might be, Sting's hypocricy of "the business is evil" when he's "retired" but then coming back for a pay day.
If this angle is going to be shades of grey or edgy, let it be that way on both sides. Don't do the whole "cool heel" vs "cookie cutter babyface" promo stuff.

Is it just me, or is turning heel the only way to win a damn match in TNA?
The more I think about it, the more it just seems like they seem utterly uncommitted to pushing a face all that much.
Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with the results of this PPV, although the stipulation of the Booker match fails the logic test. It's just it reminds me of how poorly the Angle/Joe matches were handled.
Angle is over. He didn't need to be fed Joe. They KILLED Joe's momentum there, and for what? To just make Angle about as over as he already was? Nice job?
Same goes for Jarrett as champ, and the killing of Abyss's momentum, too. Not tonight, since it was obvious Angle would win. Abyss stopped being credible like a year ago.

Wait, only a year ago? They neutered any credibility Abyss had long before that.

He won it November 06 via DQ, got destroyed by Sting at every turn, lost the belt in January of 07, then kinda did some stuff with face paint and...um, there was that whoel Judas Masias deal that never really went anywhere and James Mitchell as his father, then nothing. So I'd say he's been irrellevant for at least two years now.

Wow.
I sometimes wonder if Jarrett is allergic to money.
"Abyss is pretty much the only big guy we have." "Hmm, have a bunch of guys beat his ass on every Impact." "Why?" *shrugs*

I think the one thing that does scare me about the MEM/Young Lions angle is that I've actually heard people say "man, we need Jarrett back, he can even win the belt". I swear, I've heard it, and that scares the hell out of me.

I'd be okay if Jarrett came back, since he will eventually to shut Angle up, but him being champ just left so many bad tastes in so many mouths. Now isn't the time.

Joe looked like more of a star losing than he would have if he won.
2 jacknifes couldn't do it, but a shot to the coconuts can take ANYBODY down
So Christian is going to play the "CM Punk" of the group then?
Or will it be a rehash of eric young and robert roode inc?

Actually isn't this how Rey joined?
Eddie beat him and he was forced into it until the lwo disband for no real reason

Hell, he ended up being the only one standing up to the nWo when they demanded lWo disband and give up the shirts as it was a knock off of them, even though Rey didn't even join willingly. Gotta admit, really stupid.
