Ironic that "Final Resolution" had basically nothing resolved of any angle. I think it's pretty ass-backwards to advertise so heavily on your PPV for the next Impact show that the paying PPV audience would watch anyways. And let's just say 10% of the people (which is a huge stretch as it is) who pay for PPVs don't watch Impact, that's like 1500 people which is a drop in the pond. They made it seem that the "next Thursday" was the more important show than the PPV show currently being watched.
Holding up the X-division title again when the same angle happened 3 weeks ago is overkill.

It sucks, they seemed to be onto something here, and like you said, they really blew it.
They reallllly want to be WCW, don't they?

It all depends what you want out of a pay-per-view. The WWE uses their TV shows to hype the "B-pay-per-views," which in turn are used to hype the "big four." TNA, on the other hand, relies on the "hot card" concept for their pay-per-views - the average fan should buy the show because they want to see good wrestling, not storyline development. This isn't a "Russo/Dutch" thing, either. They've always done this. The only real problem with booking this way is that when you decide to book a PPV match with the sole purpose of continuing the story (last night's X Division match), fans feel ripped off. After all, they bought the show to see wrestling, not storyline development.
Final Resolution #2, in my mind, delivered what it promised - a really great eight-man tag match with some solid action supporting it. As I said in the PPV thread, my girlfriend and I have bought 24 TNA pay-per-views, going all the way back to the original Bound for Glory. Out of those 24 shows, the only one that we felt "ripped off" by was Hard Justice 2007. The reason we gave (and still give, when our bank account allows) $30 to TNA is because we know that when it comes down to it, great wrestlers will almost always deliver great wrestling, period.

At least they opened one of the briefcases this year... last year they didn't open any of them, and the viewers were told to tune in to Impact to find out the contents of the briefcases. Then they dragged out opening the cases for about a month.

Everyone in theory who buys the PPVS watches Impact. Therefore there is no sense in hyping Impact on the PPV, they're not the target market.
Instead, they need to get a better percentage of their 1million Impact viewers to buy the PPV.
