Why would it be a joke? Didn't I write out why I was getting the tattoo? Just because you don't get it, it's a joke? Thanks to everyone else for the comments. It just looks really "kiddie" and honestly, if I saw that on a girl who was bending over, well I just couldn't look at her from behind ever again. Perhaps this is your goal? Do you not want me looking at you from behind any more? Oh well, your loss. There's tons of other girls I can admire from behind.

This thread reminds me of an awesome saying... You see the place I get my tatts done have this awesome plaque simply saying: "The difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is that tattooed people don't care if you're not tattooed" Excellent ... I used to work with this person who would say that we get tattooed to get attention. She would say this anytime I got work done, and I'd reply with "You realize that if I wear regular shirts (I wear sleeveless ones for comfort at that job), no one knows that I got ink? How is that craving attention?" I guess some people just don't get it. But to the person that started this thread, have a great time getting your ink done. And remember the words from the boys in Biohazard. Let me get some, let me get a lump some Let me get a little under my skin Love to feel the hot vibrations Of the gun it's a wonderful sensation Make it colors give me shades of gray Make it nice, cause I'll take it to the grave You see my love for art goes much deeper than my skin The designs you see are a reflection of within It's not some stupid trend or fashion statement My body is mine, and I have the right to change it's appearance If I wish (and I forget the lines here, I'm sorry, it's been awhile since I've heard it), and I have another inch so let the ink be attached Make the lines thick, make the lines thin, just let me get a little under my skin I heard this years ago (probably at least a good 5 years before I even contemplated getting ink done), but never really knew it's true meaning until I got my first tatts altered or covered up (I can't have something that everyone else has, not anymore) and my last one created from scratch.

I remember I bumped into a girl I knew, and she literally showed me her new 'tramp stamp' in the middle of the street. It was odd.
Still, I don't mind lower-back tattoos generally. Hope it goes well for ya.

I HATE that phrase but it was the best way to explain it. I have a bunch of tattoos I want (I have two now) and this is my next one: My favorite video game of all time is Um Jammer Lammy. Milkcan is the fictional band in the game. I love the music from the game, so the best tribute I could think of was getting the band put on me. My lower back has the best amount of space, so there you go. All of my current and future tattoos have meaning behind them, so I know what I am doing and will be fine at 90 with this on my back. I'll post a picture up on Tuesday. Awesome. But you do realize that getting a tat with the words "Milk Can" right there is just asking for it, right? Hehehehehehehehe. That was apart of the joke.

I wasn't aware that tattoos had to look "adult" for me to be taken seriously. And no guy will be willing to look at my backside as I bend over because of that tattoo. My mistake.

I don't understand how this got to 3 pages.

Don't worry,I'm 22 and I get a lot of funny looks from people because I have MegaMan tattooed to my left arm.Obviously I loved the games enough that I decided to get the character permanently placed where people can see it.I absolutely love both of my tats and I don't see me hating myself for getting them anytime in the future.

I don't understand how this got to 3 pages. Because UmJammer Lammy is JUST THAT AWESOME. It's definitely a unique design, that's for sure. I do like unique tattoos, to a point. I saw a guy with a tattoo of a monkey swinging between his two nipples before. That's a little too much for me. However, in the vein of people calling your Knuckles tattoo "red sonic," be prepared for anyone seeing that to be asking something along the lines of "Uhhh, what the hell is that?" I barely remembered that game until this thread brought it back up.

And I didn't want to make it a debate, I just figured I'd throw in my 2 cents after everyone else had. I just hope you have fun.

Ahhh. The tattoo debate. I think its pretty well accepted that tattoos are not 'edgy' anymore. So why bring it up. Some people like to get tattoos. I have none. My girlfriend has a full arm sleeve, something on her chest, and a huge train and an own on her leg. She doesnt do it to be edgy, she does it because she likes them. Its tiring when people assume people who are obviously already 18 and up are doing it to rebel against something. Some people just want drawings in their skin. more power to them. Allow me to expand on something- I was actually lamenting the fact that something that had one been truly original and a signifier of one's belong to a sub or counter culture has now been completely co-opted by the mainstream, boring society. I find there to be a sort of artistic value to the designs of tats that sailors and bikers used to get. There was an originality and expressivness that is now completely lost, as people cover themselves in generic tribal designs, sloppily inked stars, or cartoon/video game characters. Make no mistake- I have no problem with that in and of itself. It's your skin and you can do what you want with it. But I believe that it has come at the expense of something that once had true artistic value. I believe so many people are consumed with "expressing themselves" with tattoos that they don't actually express themselves at all. But that's just me. And please, I don't want to hear about how or what a person's tattoos mean. I'm sure they DO mean something to that individual, and that's fine. I now fully expect this comment to be misinterpreted and raked over the coals, so let me add this: I'm not slamming tattoos (at all), I'm not slamming people that choose to get them or what they choose to get. I'm simply lamenting the fact that they are not what they used to be. I totally get what you mean. When I was a teen, tattoos were cool because bikers, sailors, rock stars, and just straight up 'counter culture" people had them. I used to want them so bad, but by the time I was 18 in 1999, everyone had one, and it didn't seem like such a cool thing anymore. I never did get any. I figure nowadays not having one makes me more unique. I'm not one to hate though. I still think they are a beautiful form of self-expression. I just wish more people did unique things with them. And for the record, I do think that what Aaron Maiden has in mind is unique, and if I can ever come up with something that I know will be both unique and meaningful to me, I just might do it.

My friend John has Mega Man tattooed on his forearm. I always respected that about him - he wasn't willing to hide his nerdery. It also inspired my idea for my next tattoo. Can't decide if I want the red mushroom or the green mushroom, but it will definitely be one of the two. Might look "8-bit" like the picture, or I might pick something more high-quality. Might even do it this week, since I'll have nothing else to do and my friend offered to do it for free. And to the OP: good on ya! Don't let people tell you what to get or not to get, and let your Nerd Flag fly!

Although a Master Sword running down my back might also be cool if I can find a way to work it in with my other tattoo's I've got planned for my back

Is it wrong that I think chicks with tramp stamps are easy? Considering you believe tattoo placement actually has something to do with a person's promiscuity tells me that there is no way you are over the age of 12, and if you are, you need to seriously educate yourself on things because you talk about them. I tried to say that as nicely as possible but you basically just called me and every other person with one a slut. I don't appreciate that at all. I'll never understand that, a guy has one, he's gay. A woman has one, she's a slut. Don't understand how something that doesn't promote hatred, or anything of that nature, could have such a negative reaction.

You know I don't have any tattoos, but a video game one does sound awesome.
Which game deserves to be immortized on my skin though? 8-bit Belmont from Castlevania? Link triumphly holding the master sword from Ocarina of Time? The frst zombie you meet in Resident Evil? Darth Revan from KOTOR? Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes? An Orc from Warcraft?

Go for it.
I have the clan sigils from the Legacy of Kain series tattooed down my upper right arm. Videogame tattoos are cool.
