The DVD cover for the "Allied Powers" DVD ... I'm a huge HBK fan, but I can name 100 other teams that deserve the cover of the DVD more than DX. The Hardys, Demolition, LOD, Hart Foundation, The Rockers, just to name a few ...

DX wasn't even a tag team until 2006, and at that point, weren't really that successful.

Putting DX on the front cover will appeal more to the common fan, thus hopefully selling more copies than it otherwise would.

Other than a few one-off team ups in '97 and early '98, HHH and HBK weren't considered a tag team until they reformed DX in '06.

It's obviously to help sell the DVD more than anything. Kids like DX, so they'll buy it, and adults were most likely going to get it anyway. Everybody wins and WWE get more money.
I do think they could have squeezed in a few more though.

Sales is no excuse for the DX crap. If they wanted Triple H on the cover, they could have used a picture of he and Austin as the Tag Team Champions from 2001. They did more as a team than the last incarnation of DX, and Steve Austin can still sell more DVDs than Shawn Michaels.

What about the current fans that probably aren't even eight years old yet? The cover needs something to appeal to them. Even if what you say about Austin is true, the WWE most likely want this to be puchased by a wide spectrum of fans to go with the wide time period of the matches; it's no good if it's only purchased by adults who recognise Austin and will only watch about half the DVD. (or just download it, even.) I just don't see many kids badgering their parents to buy a DVD because that bald referee guy and a much younger HHH are on the front cover, to be honest. DX is much more widely known by todays younger fans.

(or just download it, even.) I honestly don't think eight year olds are the market for the in-depth multi-disc collections. They can market toys and T-shirts to the kids, but they need to stop alienating their older fanbase. The older fans are the vast majority of people who buy these DVD sets in the first place.

I'm just glad they put the Freebirds on there. They could have fit more teams on there frankly. I havw no problem with DX on there, but they shouldn't dominate the set. Kids may not know about the Road Warriors, but I bet they'd be impressed by their look.

Edge and Christian deserve being the representatives for the Attitude Era. Freebirds are deserving, but I'm surprised Road Warriors or Hart Foundation didn't get on the cover over them. DX doesn't really belong, but their prominent placement is probably to try to appeal to today's teenage fans who like Shawn and Trips.

This is true, but I have a feeling this is WWE's attempt to change that. I don't have a problem with it, we could really use some more fans that actually have an idea what happened before they arrived. If this is WWE's plan I don't see it working though, since multiple disc sets in general might be just a bit too much for the short attention span of most of the younger audience.

What other tag team would y'all suggest from the current era? Mind you this is the era where tag teams are pretty much a non-factor.

I don't really see how the older fanbase is alienated just because DX is on the cover of the set. I mean, if the cover consisted of London and Kendrick, DX, the In Crowd and the Colons, sure.
