Now I know what everyone's thinking as they read the title, and I'll say that no, it's NOT a fantasy booking thread.
Rather, it's a question. I recently went through some old VHS tapes at home and found one of the older Sesame Street specials, one of the ones that are made exclusively for the PBS pledge drives, and especially during the "Put Down the Duckie" song, noticed several celebrities that as a kid I didn't know, but obviously my older family members did. And then of course, there's The Muppet Show and it's spinoffs.
Sounds sort of like wrestling, especially the 80's, where guys like Tiny Tim and Regis Philbin would make some unusual appearances. Especially NOW since we have the whole Donald Trump as owner of Raw deal.
So, the question is, does anyone think the Muppets and WWE are a bit questionable in the whole 'guest star' aspect?

WWE, yes, as their "guests stars" are usually there to plug some movie or TV or something they're doing.
The Muppet Show/Sesame Street guests have done those shows because (a) it was kid's education and they wanted to do their part, (b) charity of some other sort, and (c) they wanted to do skits with Elmo and Kermit and the Count and Grover........how fun is that?
There are WWE guest stars who've done those shows because it was fun - Pete Rose and Bob Uecker are good examples of that, I think; and Sherri Shepard seemed to be legit enjoying her participation too - mainly, though, if they do that they just attend the events as fans in the crowd (like Michael Clarke Duncan and that dude from ZZ Top)

For some reason I'm sure that Bret Hart and/or Jesse Ventura have been in skits with the Muppets. Obviously I can't be arsed Googling it though.

Gonzo-> well, yeah! I mean, facing some of the meanest guys in the business, taking all that abuse, having to deal with stuff like thumbtacks, barbed wire, broken glass, and C-4! I wanna work for you! Foley-> ::Demurs;: oh, no, no, I don't do that stuff anymore Gonzo-> then can I least try ONE of your stunts? Foley-> only if I get to pick Gonzo-> sure, anything! Hey Foley and Gonzo would be a hell of a tag team..and everytime someone tried to nail Gonzo with a finisher he's just do his 'near.......far' routine and suddenly be a tthe other side of the ring for the impact..it would be great.
