From PWInsider:
BIG TNA SPOILER by Mike Johnson @ 6:57 PM on 12/16/2008
Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed just defeated Beer Money Inc. to capture the TNA Tag Team championships in a bout that will air on 1/8/09 at the currently ongoing TNA Impact taping.
Thanks to Sinister1 for posting them:
- Chris Sabin d. Sonjay Dutt
- Angelina Love d. Christy Hemme
- Alex Shelley d. Eric Young to advance to the X-Division Championship Tournament Final at Genesis. After the match, Sheik Abdul Bashir came to the ring to fight with Shane Sewell. Jim Cornette came to the ring with security and fired Shane for his actions, but rehired him on the spot as a wrestler and he will face Bashir at Genesis.
- MEM came to the ring and each cut promos on their opponents at Genesis.
- Awesome Kong d. Madison Green in a non-title match.
- Matt Morgan d. Robert Roode. Roode took a fall out of the ring and said he couldn't go on so Morgan was declared the winner. Consequences Creed and Jay Lethal then came out to cash in their briefcase. James Storm was the only one to wrestle for Beer Money and he did it in jeans. Roode got in the ring with the briefcase and tried to hit Lethal with it while the referee was distracted but Lethal got him from him and knocked him out of the ring. He then hit Storm with it and got the pin.
- Kurt Angle d. BG James in the main event. He made him tap out. MEM came out to do more damage but Jeff Jarrett and Mick Foley came out for the save and were followed by AJ Styles, Brother Devon, and Rhino. Jarett grabbed a mic and cut a promo on Angle after MEM left and Foley did the same about the others. This led them all back to the ring where a brawl occurred. Samoa Joe then came to the ring from the crowd (arm in a sling) with a baton and drove the MEM off.

So, what you're saying is Beer Money suffered some....Lethal Consequences? You know, something about that name still doesn't sit right with me. It's too bad his name's not Jay Fatal, 'cause Fatal Consequences sounds a lot better to me.

...Um...is this gonna be one of those things where Beer Money will win the titles back at a house show before the episode where they lose the titles in the first place airs?

That happened in WCW, during the manic Florida tapings. There was a team that theoretically lost the titles at a taping before actually winning them at a pay-per-view.

It's nice to see a title match on Impact. Hopefully it gets enough time.

noooo if any team deserved to be champs its the MCMGs but then again i suppose they have that whole 'suicide' angle to focus on, i'm not really a lethal consequences fan and i hope the match got enough time. but apart from beer money i cant think of any other heel tag team for lethal consequences to feud with?

apparently, it wasn't Beer Money, but James Storm alone. Here's the rest of the spoilers:

- Angelina Love d. Christy Hemme
- Alex Shelley d. Eric Young to advance to the X-Division Championship Tournament Final at Genesis. After the match, Sheik Abdul Bashir came to the ring to fight with Shane Sewell. Sigh. So much for a good title match. Not only is it a cheap win, they use a briefcase to do it. And these are the good guys?!
No Fallen Angel either.
At least Sewell is finally going to be used as a wrestler.
Oh, and what do MEM have against BG James? Don't tell me he joined the Frontline as well?

Oh, and what do MEM have against BG James? Don't tell me he joined the Frontline as well? Um, maybe because Kurt is facing Jarrett at the PPV and their is so much history between Jarrett and BG? Seems like a given that they would involve BG somewhat.

The last thing I remember them doing together was like 12 years ago. You also had something 6 years ago, during the beginning, and also 3 years ago when they first went to Spike. However, it's more likely something that occurs in a backstage segment.

Besides, TNA would be better off building on their own six years of history rather than history from other companies.

I thought I read that BG was one of the agents who came out to break up the Kurt/JJ debacle at the most recent Impact taping. Maybe it's carried over from that? ....Al Snow, anyone?
