I was watching the "history of the intercontinental championship" dvd and there's this match between Rick Rude and Warrior for the IC belt which took place at Summerslam '89. Near the end of the match Rude spikes the Warrior with a nice, NICE Ganso Bomb. I guess Rude was going for a piledriver or something and Warrior rotated his body too much.
Still great though and not something I'd expect to see in an '80s WWF match. I guess the only thing missing would be an overlooking Masao Inoue in his disgusted face.

You know what the ironic thing about that move is? Everytime I have seen it done, it never puts the guy away for 3.

For me, the even bigger WTF is hearing what sounds like Tony f***in' Schiavone calling the action for a WWF match.

Tony worked for WWF for quite some time, actually.

Tony worked for WWF for quite some time, actually. I always forget that too. But the way Rude did it, and the way Warrior took it didn't look that dangerous at all. It was actually quite impressive working.

Man, imagine how pissed management would be if he just spiked him. If that had been the case, I don't think we would've been seeing either of 'em again in a WWF ring. Rude however would probably have ended up in NWA/WCW a hell of a lot sooner though.

Rude did a really nice job protecting Warrior there. That looked like it could've ended badly.

Maybe this is just me, but that thing looked ugly as sin. More like a botched piledriver in my eyes. But again, that may be just me.

The knees where the only option he had he used them to slide Warrior down his legs. If he completed the piledriver he could have killed him.

Ganso means something like "Originator", so this is the "Originator Bomb". The first Powerbomb known to man was made by Lou Thesz when he botched a piledriver. I don't really think it's a coincidence.
