Yeah, I have the original event on a dubbed DVD (not the edited one in the collection that's out now).
It was a good event, the only two things I didn't like were Roddy Piper on commentary (worst color analyst ever), and the predictable Rumble winner. Aside from that, great event, and I loved the outcome of the WWF title match. There was great surprise and drama to be found there. A lot of people don't remember Goldust was in the WWF at this time. I actually saw a house show in 1990 where he first debuted, sitting in the front row being berated by Dibiase during one of Dusty's matches.

I just found my tape of this event yesterday. I'll probably watch it tonight.

Virgil hitting Dibiase with the Million Dollar Belt was a great moment when it happened. Perhaps the highlight of his career.

First PPV I ever saw, and it was during that golden time that we ALL miss so SO bad....the time when I was a kid and thought it was all real. I saw the old and out of shape looking Slaughter cheat to win the title against this muscular Ultimate Warrior who looked like he stepped off the pages of a comic book. I couldn't believe it and wanted to see Warrior get his revenge.
I turned into the WWF progamming the following weekend to see what happened, and I was hooked. Nearly 18 years later, I'm still a fan.

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

Thoughts:
The pop when Virgil hit DiBiase was amazing. They way the built Virgil's face turn was perfect.
Rockers/Orient Express is still one of my favorite tag matches ever. The crowd was red hot.
Bossman/Barbarian was far better than it had any right to be.

Are you kidding me? 1991 was his year!!! He got over during his feud with Ted Dibiase and scored a victory over him for the Million Dollar Belt and he tagged up with two Hall of Famers(Bret Hart and Roddy Piper) and British Bulldog at the Survivor Series. Him as Shane was a WCW Saturday Night Jobber.

the only two things I didn't like were Roddy Piper on commentary (worst color analyst ever) Knock knock. Who's there? Randy Savage.

I always wondered why Koko B. Ware vs. The Mountie was edited off the Coliseum Video release I'll admit the match was pointless and the crowd was dead silent during the entire match (due to the shock of the Warrior losing the title), but Koko actually did a decent job of putting the Mountie over I just don't get it

They did the same thing to Race/Haku at Rumble 89.

I actually just watched this whole event for the first time ever yesterday. I remember watching the hype videos for it when I was first getting into wrestling, but I didn't get to see it live, and then whenever I went to the video store across town where I rented all my wrestling VHS, they never had it in stock.
Having watched it as a 23 year old, I can safely say that this may have been the best out of the big 4 WWF pay per views that year. Rockers/Orient Express was fantastic for it's time, and still holds up very well. Orient Express never got the fair shake it deserved. Bossman/Barbarian showcased that both guys were more talented than given credit for, and more could've been done with Barbarian.
Slaughter/Warrior wasn't much as a match (Warrior basically dominated until the very end), but the drama with Savage and Warrior later chasing him out of the arena made it work, and makes it memorable.
Virgil's turn was jaw dropping. Amazing pop, even if the crowd knew it was coming.
Even the Rumble itself was mostly well booked, though you wish they could've done more with some of the guys who had great showings. Martel and Valentine were great throughout, Bret Hart got to last awhile (though that DID lead to something), even Shane Douglas did. Hogan winning seemed a bit much after he won in 1990, but I guess they figured they had to set up WM 7.

Wasn't Andre supposed to win this Rumble? I remember reading he had an injury and couldn't make it, but he was scheduled to win.
This was a great PPV. Every match was damn entertaining. No need for Koko/Mountie (fast forward material at best).
